But high up on the list would be to throw my arms around my chocobo and give him a big hug, then go on a nice run around the safe maps.. Try out some flying.

I'd let others try out the battle and dying stuff, and decide from there. No permanent death risk? Probably continue adventuring. Risky/things hurt really bad? Professional chocobo racer. But I'd probably stick to being a SCH/healer instead of playing with melee classes..

Determine if death is permanent or has any consequences. If it does level up my culinary alchemy and use only range dps. Figure out if I have to feed all my minions and mounts. Open those balcony doors in FC mansions. See if I can make personal rooms in my personal house then rent out rooms.

For terms of a gameplay mechanic, permadeath is not something one would associate with PCs. However, the fact that NPCs die and are unable to be revived means that the potential for it is there even if it's not something that would ever be applied as part of the game system to PCs. There's no way to know what would happen should you suddenly inhabit the body of your character, though, so sadly there's really only one way to find out.... (Though honestly my post was meant to be a bit of a lark, anyway.)

5. Bathe in the blood of all the sand merchants and tree huggers in Seal Rock #Maelstrong
6. Break the glass ceiling and start desynthesizing 190 jewellry and armor.
7. Master the Quadruple Fell Cleave.
8. Retire in Costa, get some shades and enjoy the "view".
