One thing interesting about the video: It should incinerate all that "lol casual" talk.

The fight doesn't look overly hard at all. In fact on the strategy scale it would be pretty low on the ladder in terms of Hardmode fights in WoW. Tank n' Spank until Voidzones pop, then move him out of the way. Don't stand in fire. (Run Away!) when he does charged AoE and Dash. Plus he only has about 10k HP and the fight looks to have a 30 minute timer. I see him going down in 10 mins at launch and then 5 mins a day later. Cake.
But it does look hella' funI'm pretty excited for new content.

Tank stands infront of boss and attacks. Everyone else stands behind the boss and attacks. Healers heal tank. Fire appears on floor. Everyone moves out of fire. Rinse and repeat.
Although... actually I'll put what ACTUALLY happens during a WoW boss...
Tank stands infront of boss and attacks. Almost everyone else stands behind the boss and attacks apart from 2 people that stand around going "what do i do?". Healers heal tank, except one that seems to think he's a shadow priest and gets killed by a frontal cone attack. Fire appears on floor. 2 people move out of fire, everyone else stays in it. Everyone wipes. Everyone blames the tank and healer. Raid disbands.
That's pretty much what every single WoW boss is, apart from every now and again when one of the bosses puts a debuff on someone and a healer has to remove it.

wut?
That's 1 boss, try looking up.... pretty much every raid boss released in original Cata, or every raid boss in Icecrown Citadel, or Ulduar, Zul'gurub, Zul'aman....
I hate to think how bad my old guild is doing on that firelands boss though, they couldn't even make it passed the dragon twins in that shadow temple thing in cata (forgot what it was called, kinda happy that i can't remember too).
Besides, the Ifrit video doesn't show everything, it shows clips, there's no real telling exactly what he can do till we finally get to fight him. I'm pretty sure S.E wouldn't show the entire boss fight tactics in a preview video, and I seriously doubt the fight is going to be as simple as some people seem to think.
I could link you 10 more HM boss fights that require that same amount of movement and coordination. Firefighter 25m pre nerf? I think you're confusing either a) Normal mode fights in WoW with Hardmodes or b) thinking of FFXI where every fight was either a tank n' spank, zerg or circle kite. That's 1 boss, try looking up.... pretty much every raid boss released in original Cata, or every raid boss in Icecrown Citadel, or Ulduar, Zul'gurub, Zul'aman....

If you took a look at what I said and actually broke down the MECHANICS you can see in the video you can see clear options of how to combat each thing Ifrit does. All of things, broken down and analyzed are not difficult. With the right coordination/movement and court vision/reaction time the fight looks simple. If you play with baddies then that is your fault.
it proves that not every fight in WoW is what Konachibi claims it to be.Originally Posted by syntaxlies

either the graphics in wow really are that bad or its just a bad vid but i really cant make out anything in it, except the boss. everything is very small.I could link you 10 more HM boss fights that require that same amount of movement and coordination. The reason I can comment on what boss fights in WoW are like is because I played it for 5 years, been in pretty much every heroic dungeon, 10, 25 and heroic version raids and honestly it's only Cataclysm that's started to actually have proper boss fights instead of the terrible 'lack of tactics' fights I mentioned. Before Cata my guild could do each Wotlk heroic dungeon in 10 minutes per dungeon, sometimes less, we were farming Icecrown Citadel every week up to Sindragosa untill we finally got fed up of doing the same boring terrible tactics again and again and again. There's no thinking involved in boss fights from Vanilla up to Wotlk, there's only the odd mild exception every once in a while, and usually even in those cases people can make mistakes with no real danger.
That Ifrit fights looks very much like '1 mistake, and you die'.
not sure what that video is supposed to prove, it is very dark and i cant really make anything out.
