I actually do like the have Blue Magic as Cross Class skills idea. Kind of genius in making blue magic work in the current game design they have going here.

It'd be nice if it actually mimicked moves we selected to copy during certain fights to use later on like meteor or zenzetsuken. <---warning, great idea so it won't happen!![]()
Not sure why people want to turn cool jobs like blue mage, mystic knight, and samurai into a tank. They even wanted ninja to be a tank before it was implemented to the game as a DPS. It's boring, bros.
Probably because they're really DPS players annoyed that they can never get the 'adventurer in need' bonus for roulettes and thus want a class that plays like a DPS but is classed as a tank in Duty Finder. *shrugs*
Unless they're going to be learning something new from every fight they go to (which lets face it, isn't going to happen in this game), that actually doesn't make sense at all.
If BLU is ever in this game, they will learn skills from class quests mostly, and that'll make it just be a DPS.
Thats some strong wishful thinking that SE would make a 3-role class for this game :/
Depends. Did this BLU eat a few tank abilities beforehand?
Otherwise, I would think this would be characteristic of a Mime more than a BLU - copy and reverse.
Of course, unless they could someone survive the 20k hit in order to deal it (or some impression of it) back, that still wouldn't make for a tank.

Isn't mighty guard and white wind are both tank and healer limit breaks.
I think specialized sword weapon skills would be physical and quested monster abilities currently in game would supplement weapon skills as magic damage. Like doing some weapon skills would boost the potency or add an effect if it procs kind of like thundercloud and firestarter does.
Detonate as an Aoe around the caster. That ability from the hecteyes or mindflayer mob (single target paralyze). A breath from the drakes we ride as mounts as a conal attack. Something from mamol ja (ranged spash) goblins (rush as a WS) and Quirrin (for blind or stun). Finally something to self heal and recover mp. The last two or three spots would be 52 ~ 60 and may most likely be misc abilities, an attack or 1 more monster or beastman ability if everything starts at 30. I can see that attack from that demon with the two swords being made as a Blue weapon skill in a manner Goblin rush could be made into one. Then have them use tp and skill off the base weapon skills and random proc to a magic ability that uses mp. That would also mean blue could potentially have special dual wielded blades like ninja.
If anything it sounds more of a scripted Blue mage based on a teaching style or story line arc than a traditional grind and learn one. By that I mean like how ninjas quest had a boss using a variation of utsumi to make clones or using summoning circles for bats. Blue would be similar with other blue npc's using different abilities for the sake of a plot and either teaching something or you fight a related mob to gain it from. Either way it's probably more of a close quarters magic/physical damage dealer hybrid than a tank or ranged dps.

How will that make it a DPS? That's a huge leap in logic, same as mine... It's a Job that could technically do anything...
Blue Mage is a mage Job that (should) learn spells by taking them to the face... It should be tanky as a result... Whether it actively learns them, or just gets them through a quest (which can still simulate taking moves to the face to learn them), it's lore should still be "A mage that takes enemy skills to the face and lives to throw them back", that's Tank material. Or would we prefer another mage that goes out and defeats stuff to learn new skills? Because that's how Summoner works with its (might as well not exist) Egi...
The concept of a mage Tank is infinitely more interesting than the three heavy armor melee Tanks we've currently got.
There's a list of possible Jobs they could add, and a list they've even suggested... Samurai as a Tank would be thematically no different than Paladin, Warrior or Dark Knight. Red Mage and Blue Mage would make the role a lot more interesting...
They're not going to not add new Tanks... So I'd rather they mix things up... Likewise, I don't want the next Healer to be something standard, I'd rather see something like Dancer fill the role, because that wouldn't be another mage Healer.
Repetition will kill this game, already bad enough with have Bard and Machinist as near-identical Jobs... I'd rather not see Blue Mage go through the same motions as Summoner, and I'd rather not see a new Tank/Healer be near-identical to the current three... Another mage DPS that throws enemy moves at enemies? How is that honestly going to be more impressive than Akh Morn? It isn't. Give me a unique play on the Tanking role instead.
