Interesting to get the backstory. I suspected Rowena sending us to Gerolt was more than just business. I suspect though she hides it she wants to see him find his old fire again and I think he did a bit towards the end of the Zodiak quest when he actually became more proactive in improving the weapon even at the cost of his former payment.

Rowena as a syndicate member makes sense too. She is probably the most dominant merchant in northern Eorzea at this point and pretty much holds dominance over the antiquities market. I still think there is more going on with her and her motives than we have been shown. I wonder why she wants to get into politics though. That is more a play for power than wealth, even in Ul'dah.
