Anima Weapons - incentive for multiples?

So I finished my Almace and Ancile about a week or two ago after a pretty casual grind and set my next goal in game to get a pair of Sphairai Nexus for the glamour, since I've wanted them for quite a long time and never really got around to it.

After spending a couple of hours on atmas, about a week or so on and off for books, and spending less than 30k on crap materia for the Novus and an hour in Sastasha for the Nexus, this got me thinking; considering the armory system, why isn't there an incentive like this for anima weapons to encourage people to make multiples if they're so inclined to?

Would there be any support for a system for anima weapons or potentially even future relics where someone could complete the quest as intended the first time around, but then have conditions relaxed for subsequent relics?

I'd love to be in the position where I've given all my unidentified items and crafted loot to Cristina, and then the next time I start the last stage quest, she would offer me the components for say 15/3 items each, then 10/2, and so on.

I think this would make a great incentive to keep those who wish to play multiple classes occupied and keep their gear relevant even outside of a raid environment.

    What do you guys think?

Well we aren't done with the Anima weapons, probably a future step will look all cool and have an obnoxious glow like half the relic weapons so don't worry too much about that.
And I bet in a few patches this step will be nerfed so.

Clearly, the best Final Fantasy character is Locke Cole.

I'd like this idea, honestly, as someone that enjoyed working on the 2.x relics and getting every one of em, the 3.x relic series just feels too daunting to do for every job, a system like you suggested would be greatly welcome though as it'd essentially "reward" a player for doing more than one set of the work. I support that thought process!

The current steps will presumably be made easier as time goes on to help people catch up. It was like that for the Zodiac weapons as well.

I'm not sure what the OP wants. The conditions for Anima were relaxed if you'd done a 2.x relic - you could skip the crystal-collecting phase.

If you mean by progressively nerfing the hell out of the relic questline months after each major relic patch, then we haven't even gotten to the second part yet, so look forward to it?

Slap Unidentified items in Diadem. Job done, the current stage would be easy just as its being made irrelevant. Plus a worthless event gains some semblance of relevance... Wasn't it meant to be XIVs Dynamis anyway? Why not go all the way, honest I think tomestone gear and Diadem gear are the wrong way round too, slap AF2 in Diadem as something specific to work towards (personally I could care less about the stats, glamour is the true endgame here anyway) and remove that 450 cap and make tomestones random stats/skin...

Honestly, at this point Relics just annoy me... Legendary weapons? Bah, they're worthless... There is nothing legendary about them save the naming, the quests to obtain them are dull and uninspired, and they pander to the lowest form of player... FATE grinding? Really? Set the bar any lower and the planet might collapse in on itself... OK, I get it, they need to be accessible for every special little snowflake, and while that's a joke, that doesn't mean the quest has to be... Hope they work Stone, Sky, Sea into future steps, then we can give legendary weapons to people who know how to play their Jobs, rather than people who just face roll through FATEs and Beast Tribe dailies... Yeah, you might not have the group to do Alexander or Extremes, but you can still play the game properly, that should be rewarded... Is anyone really surprised so many are terrible at the game when Relics are handed out like participation awards? Maybe if you make obtaining them a trial, people will actually, you know, get good. Just make the trail solo (and thus accessible) and there should be no problem, you can even make the trail epic enough to justify these supposedly legendary weapons... Make the grind getting good enough to beat the trail, whether that be learning how to actually play, or getting your gear up to a endgame standard; I can grind FATEs for my i170 on any Job pretty much regardless of level, I can do all of the dungeons without being Lv60 (granted I need Lv60 to equip the weapon), plus I can farm all the Unidentified items off sub-level 50 daily quests... Excuse my language, but is this a f*cking joke?! We get a Lv60 weapon, i210 to boot, for a quest one could feasibly complete while leveling... Just... Ugh... Either give us a quest worthy of the damn weapons, or stop raising them to legendary status for seemingly no reasons, they should just have generic names as it stands; Sword of Utter Mediocrity is more fitting for the quest we do...

There is a title, The Insatiable, for those who got all 9 base (i80) ARR Relics.

There is no similar title for those who get all 13 base (i170) HW Relics.

There should be an achievement title for getting all 13 i170 HW Relics. That title would be the reward for getting multiple relics.

I thought what I wanted was pretty clear.

If I want to do several relics within a certain patch (ie: I want to say keep 3-4 relics up to date throughout an entire expansion), I think relaxing the requirements upon completion of each relic rather than nerfing it when the weapon becomes irrelevant and nothing but glamour would have been a good incentive to keep people who don't necessarily raid or those who wish to play multiple jobs at a high weapon standard. Sure, we have primal weapons for alts, but knowing relics will likely be customizable, the option would certainly be nice.

I think there are lots of misconceptions about how/why the relics are being released like this.

Short Answer: We complained and we are getting what we asked for.

The initial relic quest was different as people might recall if played 2.0 launch.

I think we should stop while we are ahead though. Pretty soon us westerners are just going to get a NPC in the gold saucer that just sells all the final form relics for 14 gil.

It's really difficult to give people exactly what they ask for. They often don't really want it. The dev's really do listen and do try to give us what we want. That's the scary thing. Cause well, this is the internet.... (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

    @Crysten:

I'm a NIN main, but am slowly converting over to PLD. I am 8 Ores shy of getting Anima. Question is, how does it feel to hold an Almace?
