Same sex couples can wear the same hat then. lol
But it is the same hat
Just another colored feather.
It could turn into a bikini if a female wear it.
i'm for 2 gender gear models in one gear
like the coatee set
a male version and a female version without a gender-lock

I am also annoyed by the fact that female characters get way more glamour options than male characters. However, with all the feminine gear I wore leveling to 60, especially on mage jobs, I'm frankly tired of wearing dresses and skirts. Female characters can keep their gear. Just give me more masculine glamours for my Hyur!
Missed this somehow. You felt the need to explain that you're not for gender locks, even though I never implied you were on either side of the matter. I only reexplained my point multiple times because you kept missing my point.
Unless being sarcastic is the same being defensive now? Must have missed that memo.
Being sarcastic is being defensive or passive-aggressive. If it is just done in fun, then it isn't sarcasm, it's being facetious.
Anyways, my two cents-
I don't personally see a need for a gender lock on any gear. I think if gender lock exists, then every time we get a female-only item, we get a male-only item. And either way I think they need to be more adventurous with gear design and make things more feminine and things more masculine, cover both ends of the spectrum. I mean even the best man's suit doesn't look like it is cut for a man, it just looks like a nice unisex suit. Personally though even with extreme masculine or feminine design, anyone who wants to wear it should be able to.
That being said I do enjoy race-specific and job-specific gear, because it often has a specific design and doesn't look bland. I think everyone should get a little something to feel special. Everyone always says how they wish the elezen dress was available for everyone, and to that I say, I enjoy that I get a tight black leather dress for playing as an elezen. I apologize if anyone doesn't like their hyur or miqo dress, but if you hate it that much, change your race.
I think if they only design with everyone in mind they will only end up making generic, watered-down looks. I think there should be limitations to give gear room to be more unique and tailored to certain aspects, but I do not think gender should be one of the limitations.
