Uhm, if you're in a party they can see your class icon, and if you're not they don't typically care. So there was never "Tricking" anyone about your class. But what could have been an issue was a lvl 15 <Insert Class Here> borrowing a friend's old gear and glamouring his ilvl <Insert Higher Number Here> to his ilvl 5-10 equipment.
