I think the real issue is the system was ultimately botched to begin with. The point of the Blue Scrip gear is to offer a non-crafted alternative in progression level 55 -> level 58. The fact that you can't get to that point without using crafted gear proves the system is flawed.

I am totally in agreement with you, I was looking through all my crafters to see if I had miss a piece of gear, couldnt believe that between 55 and 60 there was nothing there that I could or could be crafted.

The option of 58 isnt bad, is just gated behind blue scripts which, once you know how to go about, isnt long to get, but it shouldnt be so, in my opinion.

I went from 50-60 on all 3 gathering skills pretty blind to the possibilities. It wasn't really clear what the 'scrip' system was all about. I managed to hit 60 without getting any scrips. At that point, the only way to get to the gathering/perception levels necessary to do the level 60 quests was to go out and purchase HQ gear all around. NOT optimal. Luckily, my rise to 60 was accompanied by a large number of MB sales of gathered items, so I could afford the gear. I don't know that this is possible anymore.

Gathering and crafting should come with manuals ... [yeah, I know about Caimie ... thankfully]

I cant afoard to spend zillions just to gear up....that thought alone is just about silly...when my crafters are nearly all at 60. This game has it backwards,

You need to be geared to gear up; but to gear up, you need to have gears; to get the gears that will allow you to gear up, you need to get scripts but if you are not geared is hard to meet the breaking point...LOL..I got lost in my own explanation...

I got my gatherers to 60, without doing blue scrips... Mainly just doing GC turn ins, and getting stacks of what my crafter's needed. I then had an FC friend make the white gear set for me, after I gathered the mats. Did a few simple melds (all 100%) and I've been good for everything aside from HQ folklore. When my crafter's caught up to 60, they could easily make their own white gear. So I assume if you been cross leveling ask you could make your own gathering white gear.

That quest is actually difficult without the HQ gear, which means either buying stuff off the board or crafting it yourself. I was not able to meet the Perception requirement (I refused to meld the gear I was leveling up in) in the Blue Gathering Scrip gear.

For anyone who wants to start doing blue scrips (56) you can go to moghome and buy all the field gear (55 dhalmelskin) NQ and the main hand. Then with either the titanium or (mythrite) sledgehammer, 600 GP and perception/gp food you can begin gathering blue scrips. Your stats will be 462(548) gather 463(457) perp. To get blue you need 417/464 w/ rotation =DE-MA-DE-MA-UC-MA-UC-MA collect one. No crafted gear needed all from NPC or quests. Good luck!

One more thing full trailblazer (blue scrip gear) plus dragonskin belt w/ HQ adamantite MH + OH will make you well above necessary requirements for red scrips! So any melds/food can help you if you don't have those tools (melds in your accessories/belt)

It wasn't too bad at the time (around November of last year, lots of crafters around selling items at some reasonable prices). If you have LTW and BSM at 60 and can afford to work until you've crafted the HQ main-hand and second-hand, plus most of the left-side gear, you should be fine. The right side accessories only grant you GP, and you don't need them to do the level 60 quests. For scrips, however, that GP is really necessary as you need to get to at least 600 GP to 'collect' with any proper rotation.

One of the nice things about leveling crafting from 50-60 is that you don't need to be a max level gaherer to get most of the materials -- even the adamant[ite?] ore can be gotten for recipes while in sub-60 gathering gear. Just not the collectibles.

yes, I was able to craft my gears myself including the right hand tool.. the main hand is sitll lvl 55, might make it at a later stage. I have reached the level where I cna get basic blue scripts those that give 10, but is good I have time.

For the other, slowly but surely...I will get there too.. Now that I started FINALLY, I can move forward...I will come back though to you people when I am stuck again which will happen surely

The quickest, one piece way to add perception.

HQ serpentskin bush hat. Perception +116. Meld in two Gatherer's Guile IV for another +12.

Also Dzemael au Gratin is both GP and perception food. It can be bought cheaply from an NPC in the Jeweled Crozier.
