The Ring, and what it represents. (Questions for RPers and ppl who made backstories)

I remember creating alts from time to time and always having these rings and slightly wondering in the back of my head where Meo's ring is...
Well, if I never rode the ship, I guess that makes sense ._.
I want one too...;_;

If I got to choose now, I'd pick the "..." option because the other 3 never appealed to me. Meo is neither the type to go after money nor power. Her character is basically established as doing everything she does because she considers it exciting. She's not a hero, if she suddenly lost interest in beating up primals they could suck the world dry for all she cares..
So while fame is something she doesn't mind achieving (since it draws stronger foes to her), it's not really her goal
Therefore she woul have gotten the ring of freedom I assume.

You could always make a new character, get a Ring of Freedom, and have a friend pass it to your main.
Make up some story about how you got it and where it was. Problem solved! \o/

Actually, the first thing I did after answering this thread was going to the local marketboard to buy one xD
2 of the 4 are not available and the others cost 100k and 300k respectively
I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow for friends to be awake again and do the whole new character trade thing ._.

I'm in the same situation.

Thinking back on it, I don't remember even getting a ring. I remember the question from the questionable merchant who was in the coach with me (who also made no future appearances until he smuggled me out of Ul'dah during the banquet fiasco), but I don't remember having anything other than the clothes on my back. I'm sure I must have had one since everyone gets one, but I don't know what happened to the darn thing ... Now I'm going to scour my inventory (and retainer inventories) to try find it.

I'm not really much for RP, but I suppose if I had to come up with something for not having a ring it would probably be my character's refusal to be defined by those four choices and a desire to grow as a person rather than a pre-defined character. Maybe he would have rather been a villain and chose to throw his ring away out of spite for not being allowed to be one.

He and the other two are there to greet you and celebrate your victory at the Waking Sands after felling Gaius, along with many of the other people you met along the way.

The merchant and his brothers also actually appear in the Waking Sands throughout the 2.0 MSQ up until it gets sacked by Livia, comically always missing one another before having a grand ole meet up.
