Square, the hatchling plushie bonus makes zero sense.

    (Referring to this: https://store.na.square-enix.com/pro...chling-plushie )

The lamp is cute and all, but it's destroyed on pickup and in order to get it again you have to drop 30 bucks (US) on another plush.

Just do 'The Sims' thing and offer a limited range of things for a couple of bucks each in the mogstation. Make them NOT destroyed on pickup and keep most in game as crafted items.

Which brings up another topic, why do they even have this horrible crap of your stuff being destroyed? There is sure to be a better way to implement something to achieve what they want.

that's... really stupid. I don't understand why any of the furniture is destroyed when you take it out. The bomb lamp, food, wallpapers and floorings. This is especially insulting since you're spending real money for the item.

Wow that's completely unreasonable considering it is a real-life purchase.

It makes perfect sense if you're Square Enix, I suppose?

Or... to put on a makeshift conspiracy hat, go out on a limb and connect some hypothetical dots...

An item that unique (or at least super rare) destroyed upon pickup makes a person not want to lose it. This in turn would make them not want to have to pick it up, or otherwise lose it. This in turn would lead them to not allow their personal/FC house go abandoned and demolished. This would in turn lead them to maintain an active subscription, so they could log in enough to make sure that doesn't happen. This would in turn lead to near guaranteed revenue for SE from anyone who obtains and places said lamp.

Er, yeah, that's silly. I prefer to believe that it's an oversight rather than a cunning strategy to maintain loyalty - I do wish that furniture which can be lost this way could go to the calamity salvager once it's 'unlocked' on the account in general. I'm always terrified about using it and don't want to store loads of spares on retainers whenever a seasonal event rolls around.

They should just make an exception for these where it shows up on the calamity salvager for the owner if it gets destroyed in some way. (Limited to one purchase per account with the code applied) Maybe some extra protection (if it doesn't exist already) with a check to see if you have placed one recently in one of the estates you have access to so people don't spam these in every house they have access to.

That is pretty messed up, spending 30 dollars and then you lose it if someone just decides to kick you from free company.

only reason is to get the stuffed animal the in game item seems to be useless, especially with that it breaking like that, can understand about breaking crafting items in game but not something you buy from the store.

Maybe its to prevent stealing I don't know. Maybe they will make it so you can rebuy it from the calamity savager.

Edit: Oh wait I just remember something, bonus codes like this get sent to all your chracters. So the person could just make an alt and delete it and get another one.

Gotta be honest, this is a new low for SE. It's bad enough certain cash shop items are "per character."

I've wondered about this for a while. It's such a foolish design choice. Sometimes things happen in FCs and people choose to leave and go elsewhere. They shouldn't be punished by being forced to destroy trophy furniture that may hold some personal value. Or, if I want to change my wallpaper to something seasonal, I shouldn't be forced to lose the old one.
