I don't think people would have minded it if crafters were able to create a base weapon (kinda like in 2.0)for the new anima. For those with Zeta they could easily skip this step + atma stone, too. Certainly seems to be a better "bonus" for completing the Zeta.
And your point is what exactly? Because it requires crafting and you don't have any crafters or gatherers leveled you think its stupid? Seems legit....
I'd say any content that makes you feel like you're working and not playing a game is stupid content, but then there are the people on live on that type of content.

Wouldn't you consider it stupid if a highly relevant crafting content required you to gather TT cards and farm NPCs for drops, breed a top class racing chocobo (to grill it for a culinarian recipe, of course), level all battle classes to 50 and three to 60, win X verminion tournaments or acquire a certain PvP rank, "then" gather enough wolf marks to buy items?
I'd find that stupid, personally.
No, I have already explained my post, but I guess you don't want to go back a few pages to see - or you missed it, fair enough.
It's stupid, because it doesn't actually add any content for crafters, it's not making things more engaging for them. It is merely requiring them to make a relatively easy craft, so they can make millions of gil transferred to them by people who don't craft. It's argued that it makes crafting relevant again, but it doesn't. It makes a handful of random items useful, but not crafting as a whole. It's not engaging, it's not content, it's not fun, it's only a way to transfer gil from some players to another.
I don't have crafters or gatherers, because I personally think the implementation in this game of crafting and gathering is abysmal. I've never seen something less fun in a video game before. I talked to people to determine if it improves at higher levels, but everything that I hate about it is actually amplified at higher levels rather than reduced. Regardless of this, it's irrelevant to the conversation.
TLDR What is stupid is that this doesn't add anything of substance, and that it's an unnecessary gil transfer.
Your analogies are so far fetched its not even funny. Crafting has been a part of battle classes since day one. To even try and compare it like you are shows how much you are reaching.Wouldn't you consider it stupid if a highly relevant crafting content required you to gather TT cards and farm NPCs for drops, breed a top class racing chocobo (to grill it for a culinarian recipe, of course), level all battle classes to 50 and three to 60, win X verminion tournaments or acquire a certain PvP rank, "then" gather enough wolf marks to buy items?

Crafting content is crafting content. I wouldnt expect you to understand simply because you have none. Crafting hasnt been usefull since 3.0 (minus the blue crafting gear) because SE took away the crafts that we used to get (accessories) to help with battle content. No, I have already explained my post, but I guess you don't want to go back a few pages to see - or you missed it, fair enough.

You dont find it engaging, you dont find it fun, you dont find it to be content. Speak for yourself because I certainly find it fun and engaging content. I LIKE crafting in this game. Does it make your feels about it invalid? No it dont. But to sit and complain about it because you need to rely on a crafter to complete a step in a relic weapon is silly.
Remember, YOU chose not to level a gatherer or crafter, your choice. How did you NOT see this coming is the better question lol
I personally find the requirements of the battle tokens to be absurd and you know what? I just CHOOSE not to rush it, I CHOOSE to do it at my own pace, and its a choice that I am happy with.
Thats funny, it literally took me like 4 hours to gather and craft what was needed for the relic. For the ones I didnt specialize in, I asked friends to do. In turn they asked me to do theirs.
The battle, and daily part is far far worse and takes far far longer than the minimal crafting components

Like battle classes, crafter classes just need gil and tokens (scripts) to buy thingsWouldn't you consider it stupid if a highly relevant crafting content required you to gather TT cards and farm NPCs for drops, breed a top class racing chocobo (to grill it for a culinarian recipe, of course), level all battle classes to 50 and three to 60, win X verminion tournaments or acquire a certain PvP rank, "then" gather enough wolf marks to buy items?

With your logic, gil is and always will be worthless.Even though you made it back it is a loss.
Once the market value does down instead of the 6mil you would of had you only made 3 once the new weapons roll out and they don't update anima weapons again you spent how much on that just so its a high priced glamour. My cousin read this and said people used to say the same thing in FFXI but hows that 20million scorpion harness +1 oh that's right its only 200k now.
There is no content that requires you to have 210 weapons and so you spent that much on few extra damage even though everything is easy to walk over.
By the time the weapon becomes relevant its gonna be obsolete and sure you say its not a loss but I much rather have that 3 mil plus the 3 made instead of blowing it all on something that gives a tiny bit of damage.
You can technically play this game on just tomestone gear alone, ad infinitum.
...except people like having shiny things. The relic is to some people a shiny thing worth spending gil on.
Having learned from the old Zodiac weapons, I provisioned gil for relic expenses too. *high five for preparedness*

Come to Excalibur, you can get pre-made mats around 4 mil total and a bit less if you can get someone to craft them for you.
