I did read the whole thing. And I'm with Velox. I report anyone I see selling homes. Either they will sit on it or get some money back by letting it go.Uhh if you read the whole thing I said they almost certainly will not let it get relinquished. Because really why would they when they can sit on it and sell it at a safe time without fear of warning. I doubt people who bought to sell really need the money asap or that they have the generosity to just relinquish it,
I agree with Andrea. I've been on the fence about getting rid of my home ever since the announcement to take houses from players. I've had it since subdivisions were established, it's furnished and in a great spot, but I'm getting sick and tired of SE and their greedy, half-hearted development. I'm currently only resubbing one month at a time, every other month or so, and largely at the insistence of my significant other, but I keep debating selling my home so I don't need to worry about walking into it just to trigger some hidden timer.
If I did sell, I wouldn't sell it for some ridiculous profit, just the cost of the land and any irretrievable furnishings so I can get my money back. But if the day comes that I make that choice, it would be a benefit to the player base for me to sell it, so why would it be punishable? It could easily sit there for years, unused, as my aforementioned partner can and will resub my character to refresh the home if I stop playing completely.
I do think that GM support was something that was necessary for people who are hoarding or flipping houses, but I think, as most punitive action goes, that it should be handled on an individual basis.
I'm sure you did fantastic in school right.
Y player would like to get a house. X player can't sell house, But invested quite alot of money in it, like many other Xs they cannot sell their house. And they rather keep it than demolish it to give it away for free.
I'm against buying up houses, But banning people who are selling their houses for what ever reason other than buying -> selling higher giggty lol diggity!
Try to take the day off when they add the new wards or subdivisions. In the long run, gil is infinite, you can save up a lot by being a crafter and gatherer and it doesn't take that long to do. Just a gatherer makes a good chunk and you can max it with a full time work schedule in 1-2 weeks. So, even if in the end you have to pay double the houses cost by getting someone to relinquish it, in the long run (unless you move or quit) you will have that for as long as you want it and it will be a one time ordeal. There is just no way they are going to satisfy everyone sadly. Apartments are a great step for those individuals that just want to dye their bo's and, in the future, garden though at least.
