    But why does PLD need aoe dps? It got through 2.x just fine without it, and many people even claimed it was a better choice for big pulls because of block, blind and Hallowed. Even now in 3.x it was the best choice for A2S MT, and it gained a decent amount of trash damage by being able to rotate Goring Blade under Fight of Flight. Tanks don't need to have all the same aoe potential.

    It didn't get through anything apart from OT single-target "fine", though. It's only advantage as MT was more at-the-ready mitigation tools than WAR, and a faintly higher heal efficiency. Dungeon tanking was a Warrior's game. Dealing significant damage as MT was the Warrior's thing.

    They've since given Warrior further AoE dps, DRK heavy AoE dps, and left PLD with only CoS. We generally expect these gaps to close with future developments and increased options, not widen due to negligence.
