Think about it for a second. How is supposed to react the average player when it sees the best rewards, the best gear, being given for only being semi-AFK clicking buttons while watching netflix. Hunt meets Fates (Diadem) was released in such a poor state just for the sake of keeping people subscribed, as long as they were farming, there was a slight chance that they would get a better piece of gear than the ones that challenged the most difficult content in game.

That's SE's fault absolutely. You can't say it's the players fault when the designers of the content released in that way. What they were expecting people would do? There's nothing else to do in diadem, or you kill mobs, or you gather things. There's no exploration, you aren't required to explore things, find treasures, kill rare mobs (and i don't mean rare mobs that need to be spawned by killing thousands of mobs), there's no collaboration between gatherers and disciplines of war/magic. Diadem is a completely failure, but it's not the playerbase fault. Playerbase played Diadem as they thought it was intended, getting gear by zerging mobs. If the rewards had came from exploration, gathering, cooperation, optional objectives, maybe it wouldn't have been such a failure like it is right now.
