With the early-game solo centric approach players who can't find groups can still survive and progress successfully. They don't miss out on story etc. Dungeon entrance requirements will be slightly adjusted, allowing smaller groups entry. It will help them catch up to a certain degree, but still allow them to learn the game properly. I think SE is doing a good job in this.Because of the easy content and guild leve reform, the new players wont have any trouble with progressing through the story-line and ranks then? What we are used to call easy, will they call it difficult and will you party with new adventurers?
It's easy IMO to catch up within the armorer system and some-what fun. Even crafting is fun! What reforms do you think will make the release?
I'm real glad there's no reset on characters! I really want to continue progressing and filling up my history with achievements!
Those of us who have been here since day 1 can continue to eat up all the new challenges SE throws our way without creating an impossible curve for new people to some-day join in on the fun.
I would, I'm kind of for a complete wipe. Due to how many 50's were acured during the exploitative leve quest's went rampant. Either way doesn't matter to me, I think it would be in the best interest for new players due to economy ect. No one can survive in the economy unless your rich. People have easily capped the gil chart and now the route to getting that absurd gil is gone.
Perhaps they should just reset items/gil and levels gained during the leve exploit phase and things would be fine. There is no recovery atm though without doing so. Although people who gained 4+ 50's due to the exploit would probably quit. There is no clear cut way to go about it without hurting there "playing cause its free" and "new players, joining @ release" crowds. Either they keep what they have or lose out on many new subs. (Although, imo, I dont think a lot of the players that play now will play when re-release hits)
I firmly believe there won't be any wipes or resets. Although if there were I would quit as well.
Not the player's fault they progressed. If this were a year long beta and the game wasn't launched or purchased, then yeah... you'll probably get a character wipe, but it's impossible now.
Even though they are almost completely redeveloping the game, they have to keep the characters because it was launched and a transaction was made with the purchase of the client. Also, it would be a great way to kill this game indefinitely. Bad idea.
You may want to clarify just exactly what you mean by "exploit", and if you meant the fail-leve-and-redo-next-cycle, just gtfo, the system was designed that way. Was it imbalanced? sure, but saying people who played according to the system were exploiting... yea, whatever. also, I grinded my craft and gathering the hard way, you'd have to pry those levels out of my cold, dead fingers.
and no, it wouldn't be in the best interest for the new players, as a wipe will just kill off the game instantly on the spot, leaving the new players with no game to play.
After the next 2-3 major patches, I wouldn't complain if they started charging. Seeing the improvement 1.18 brought, and what's in store for 1.19, I expect the following patches to be content rich.
By the way you really shouldn't have mentioned or brought up the topic of reset. It shouldn't be discussed as it's firmly set in stone the accounts won't be reset. If you have even the slightest doubt in your mind, think to yourself what exactly is there to wipe. There has not been level cap expansions, there is no armor in game that's elite gear that could have been obtained and taken advantage of. The only thing it'd do really is set back EXP, skill, and a select group of accounts that have a LOT of gil. They would never
Hopefully they introduce a new server for new players who don't want to feel overshadowed and for players who want to start over fresh, but personally I'll be keeping the work I've already put into the game, thanks.
Assuming i still play by PS3 release date.
AH yes, it was designed that way, and why is it not the same anymore? Hmmmm? Mind boggling isn't it. Sadly as you say it GTFO, means soon you wouldn't have to worry about them reseting anything. I've seen that passed around like candy and to be truthful. XIV can't afford for anymore people to gtfo. A lot of new players will find something wrong and not be joining. Don't fear though! When there's no one left just you and you're linkshell (just you) on release. Can gtfo~You may want to clarify just exactly what you mean by "exploit", and if you meant the fail-leve-and-redo-next-cycle, just gtfo, the system was designed that way. On topic yes new servers would solve a lot of problems. I would def re-roll to get off these destroyed servers.
