Then why can't we just create a giant cannon the size of Eorzea and use it to blow up the Ascians, and then create a portal to Zodiark and proceed to blow him up with this cannon? Right, because there's limitations to the things we can do in the universe. Magic follows the laws of this universe. I'm not saying the turtle and my theoretical giant cannon are comparable, but there are limitations to the universe no matter how you spin it.

there are no limitations. other then what yoshi p and crew dont want in game like dead FF characters because they feel it will ruin other games for players, or summons looking closer to the real versions as it would cheapen them.

a fantasy world is whatever the developers want, they could make a cannon that one shots everything but that would be counter productive as they need a story to draw in players and content to do so.

There are no developers, and yet the team is a limitation? That's a limitation. You know the FFXIV team has staff dedicated to lore, they're going to create things that fit into the realm of this game. That's the reason we don't have wingsuits, or the giant cannon, or a motorbike. The only problem is that they cave into the community, for better or worse as it seems like we have no idea what we want. "We want open content with no limitations!", "No, we want some limitations now!", and so on.

you said a fantasy world has a limitation based on in game, which is completely preposterous as the developers are who make the game and its rules. just as easily as saying something can't be done they can make it be able too.

the argument is on something like a turtle flying in fantasy world be illogical when nearly everything in a fantasy world is illogical.

oh look you took a sword to the gut but no problem it was a weak sword and you are strong you only lose a small amount of hp.

But there are limits in FFXIV, a prime example being that we can't kill Ascians through normal means. Is that not a limit for lore reasons? Yes, the development team can change that at anytime. "The Ascian didn't eat his morning breakfast, so can now be killed through regular means", but that's not only poor writing but it contradicts the previously set limitations. "But there's no limits still, as the writers can change that", at this point you're only arguing technicalities, the writers of CSI Miami can put in a dragon, doesn't mean it will work.

Every piece of literature, film, and video game has their own set of rules on what can and cannot happen. They break some rules of reality while imposing another rule to make the story more believable within that realm.

i will keep this simple, no i am not saying but there's no limits still as the writers can change that. what i am saying is the writes can ignore it and still make it happen there is no limit because it's not real.

change it? no just do it. do you have to have a reason to kill a ascian by just stabbing one? nope because once they say its dead that is the end of the discussion, no if and's or butts.

you can argue that is bad writing, stupid, illogical, makes no sense, but it doesn't stop it from happening.

the rules only mean something if the developers say so, not the other way around.

actually my whole arguement stems down to the game isn't real we are we can put rules in there and then ignore them as they mean only what we let them.


as i personally don't play for logic as to me there is none, you can say this is why this is this way or this is why we can do it but it's still a lie not true we just pretend it is to immerse ourselves more.

He probably saw that there's a flying tortoise out on Azys La and wanted the adamantoise to fly.
