Who even cares about the outfit? Finally the "one" long hairstyle that doesn't make you look like somebody's groomed little pet kitty becomes available.

I hate showing forehead and I don't like eyebrow-height bangs either. I want hair in my face, like that one male hairstyle that covers half of it, except with the second eye partially visible. But no! Instead we got yet another wavy one last time. With either forehead showing or brow-high bangs. RAWR! The short one looked decent, but again, it's short. Gah...

I could rant about hairstyles for days.

Oh, you mean those servers that were called European servers but were actually in Canada? And remained there for long after FFXIV had become one of the most successful subscription based MMOs?

Yes, I'm very much aware they were not originally in EU. Otherwise it wouldn't have been such a big deal that they were getting legit servers in europe that involved taking down all EU data centers for an extended period of time. Which they accomplished with cash shop money, because SE probably wouldn't have paid for it out of pocket.

I've very much aware of how big corporations work, I've spent more than my fair share of time being screwed over by them as an employee. Which seems to be what the Dev team is dealing with.

Yet ever since the cash shop was introduced, we've gotten less content per patch than ever. Something smells fishy.

If believing they're reinvesting cash shop profit into the game's content helps you sleep at night though despite no evidence supporting that vs the alternative, by all means, believe it.

Soooo much this. All the people who defend the cash shop with this excuse I don't know what game they are playing but we have been getting less and less so if the money from the cash shop goes to game development it sure isn't going to this one.

All the poor people that missed the four or five (not kidding, it was at minimum four times) times that the event was re-released. That event has basically happened nearly every four months since the game came out.

People keep loving on SE and thanking them and asking them for it to come out a sixth time. I'm happy they are putting it on cash shop however. THANK HYDELYN that event won't be coming out a sixth time, omg people, what the heck? :P

And then I get all the hate when I ask for a second meteor event, people so mean to me. ; ; That meteor event was waaaay cooler and all the poor people that missed it that didn't play at the end of 1.0 didn't get to see it or get the special rare glamour items (Dalamud horn is pretty boss)!

Everyone should get to appreciate the apocalypse, there is just no pleasing some people. You could go outside tomorrow and the world could be ended and you wouldn't appreciate it. You guys don't deserve an apocalypse. I'm going to go experience my own apocalypse and none of you all are invited. We will have punch and pie and it will be awesome.

If I went outside and the world was on fire I'd be really surprised. I mean, it could already be and I wouldn't know. I don't go outside much.

LOL what? You are happy cuz they are going to SELL you stuff from an old event?
SE should DO the event again for new players to try, not SELL the few things they gave during one of their few "decent" events to players who are already paying for a game/ expansion / subscription...

The thing is, when combined with recent announcements about content and patches (such as fewer dungeons per patch), I find it hard to believe that SE is planning on using increased profit to benefit the game.

It's much more believable that the EU server thing was a PR stunt and a justification for the cash shop when combined with the knowledge of less content per patch. The cost of moving the servers is out of the way, the cash shop is becoming more profitable, yet the content per patch is decreasing and the same limitations excuses and such persist, and Yoshi is at odds with upper management more than he has been in a while which points to the FFXIV team not getting the funding and support they need/deserve.

Something doesn't add up. My personal guess is that now with the servers moved, which was the justification for the cash shop, its existence will now be to purely profit SE and fund their other endeavors. It's the only thing I can really conclude with how they're now making more cash shop content with less patch content. The money has to be going somewhere, and judging by recent happenings, it isn't going back into the game.

Consider every other online game's stance is just "you missed it, now suck it up," I'm pretty happy about it.
