Well it looks okay on Hope because Hope is a kid, but translate that outfit onto our burly adult male characters. It would look rather comical, and while people do like to dress themselves funny, i'm partial to a more serious look. Snow was an adult, and dressed as one, and his outfit looked great on all our characters. If our characters were teenagers and had teenager proportions, then it would look great.
Also, Hope's terrible personality traits in the first game stained that outfit. His 13-2 outfit may have been okay, though.

As much as I like Hope's outfit, I agree regarding male characters in FFXIV. They needed something a little more adult that would have looked good on more players. Lots of cool glamors use Snow's pants.
That said, I have an issue with you bashing Hope's personality next to Snow's. Hope is a child and he grows a LOT over the course of the game and ends up pretty tough and mature at the end. His character is complex and pretty multi-faceted. Snow, an adult, spends most of the game acting like a child and he never grows out of his hero-complex. His dialogue is boring because he says the same things over and over again. Honestly I couldn't stand him.
I don't mean to start another debate: you can have your opinion and I can have mine. Just offering a different perspective. I kind of found it striking how differently you perceived the characters than what I got out of it.
