[GM] Please take notice. Make statement on housing.

What we really need is the UA updated with its own section that explicitly says that the buying and resale of estates to other players is a prohibited action. It would take all of 5 minutes to do and a few more minute to issue an update notice on the lodestone. Using 3.2 of the UA as the section that is being violated is not enough. It is too broad of a section to begin with as almost any action which I don't like is disrupting my experience in some way. But I'd find it absurd to report people for those things because life is too short to care.

well the people who buy many houses on an account then make PF's to sell on plots that were just bought sounds like sellers so my statement RMT still stands.

It still doesn't stand. The R means Real or real world currency, not in-game gil. It would be more appropriate to call them FMT (Fake Money Traders). But someone obtaining things to sell at a higher price is not against the rules when it comes to in-game items (eg, I can go out and harvest items that an NPC sells for 10g and put them on the market for 10k - it's almost the same thing).

Unfortunately, this is in response to a player putting up a PF saying that he had "20 houses for sale." He didn't even have 1, so sadly it created a sort of grey area where people aren't sure if it's the act of doing this that was against the rules, or the fact that he was disrupting others with a troll-PF.

Only the OP was joking about selling the house. Another poster, who was genuinely selling a house via the PF also got told it was against the ToS. They were even sent a written warning as shown in the thread.

The GM response explicitly states "Unfortunately we do not tolerate the sales of housing or land in our game and will have to place a warning on your account."

It doesn't say "Because you were disrupting others by trolling Party Finder..."

As mentioned in this thread referenced in the OP, I had a thread removed by mods for attempting to sell a Medium Goblet house.

BF and I sold two smalls to fund our L house (admittedly, mine was one I purchased on an alt, though not at all for the purpose of reselling; I honestly meant to use it and never did as much as I should), and nowhere did GMs contact us or were we told this was against the rules in any way. BF had his PF up for DAYS, because his was a Goblet house and there just wasn't much interest in it, even. Not once were we contacted by anyone or asked to remove the PF.

It seems like they're just saying it is "against the rules" NOW because of all the bitterness and angry feelings over their unsatisfactory housing reclaim system. >__> I don't really care going forward, unless they introduce "XL houses" or something and we want to upgrade again, but it's kinda funny how this has been going on for a WHILE now and "suddenly" now it's reportable. Consistency is key, guys.

Inappropriate Behaviour


Behaviour that does not fall under the harassment category, but otherwise is intended to prevent or hinder game play for other players, is also considered inappropriate and thus prohibited. SQUARE ENIX encourages unique play styles by all players in FINAL FANTASY XIV. Under the full tosh under the harassment cause there is sub text clause on griefing making mention of monopolization

Also acts need to be reported first, gm don't do anything if its not reported.

Sorry I hate greedy people that in this instance buys something and sells it for like double or so on top of the buyer will have to buy the actual plot too.

Absolutely should be able to sell your house if for some reason you are done with it, either to an NPC reclaimer or to another player.

It's pretty much a problem of SE's own making, however. Each account should be able to own only one house imho. Just one, including FC houses.

Sounds like a bad housing system to me. You can't blame people for taking advantage of a terrible system created by the devs. This is squarely the developer's fault.

I should also note that I don't have a house- couldn't afford it in this horrible mess they implemented. Regardless, it is the devs that are responsible for creating the worst housing system in any game I've ever seen. Players are just using the system that was created.

even if this is allowed I can't stand people who instead of get something to enjoy instead they get it just to make gil by forcing someone else to pay far more for your "inconvenience" that you probably had no intention in keeping in the first place... though even crap like this happens in the real world I suppose...

But course irl there's zillions more lands to buy sell while in this game its super limited so should not be exploited by greedy folks...
