Do you know how ridiculous that sounds? Do you really believe everyone who currently owns a private house are defending Square over the whole housing situation and are out to get people who don't have a home/don't have the gil to buy one/missed the boat?

But yes, according to my experience, most rich people don't give a rats ass about people less fortunate. Bot IRL and ingame.
Esp the ones that never experienced life as a "poor pleb" since they lack the necessary data for comparisons.

As such I do not expect them to empathize.
