I really don't think that'll change anything. I get the feeling the residences in a mansion would be like the personal rooms in FC houses, and people clearly aren't using those in lieu of having their own estate.

They are supposed to have interior gardening i belive. Its a cheaper solution to housing issues. Again, not a solution at all if we are strict. But hey, playerbase called for this absolutely garbage of a decay system and see how it went. Now SE has all the excuses they need to do nothing because they already "did something". Hint: They did nothing but to screw already house owners.

False. I feel bad for the people that didn't get a chance to get themselves a house, the situation sucks. Yes, I have a house both for my FC and myself, and try to share it as much as I possibly can. It's far from a perfect system, but they ARE trying to better said system, it's not so much not having empathy, as those that don't have are looking at us with jealousy and are formulating this grand conspiracy of "the rich players are plotting against us to not allow us homes", which simply is not the case

You are an exception then. Most players I encounter (esp the ones in the forums) seem to derive some kind of perverted joy from having stuff others can't have and many act as if that makes them somehow better players/persons. Seraphuslol is a prime example of this.

In a manner of speaking yes: everyone who defends the current system, that is clearly completely inadequate in meeting the playerbases demand for personal space is essentially perpetuating the: "the rich players are plotting against us to not allow us homes" conspiracy/myth.

Though anyone with half a functioning brain knows that we as a collective community don't have THAT kind of influence on the developers.
Them DEVs know the current situation sucks, but I think that they have some pretty harsh limitations on their end. Not just hardware but also software based. Not sure how many wards the code can withstand before stuff becomes unstable and miserable for everyone, so I do understand their caution and I do not believe that "throw moar server racks at it" is the solution.

I do.
I actually prefer my FC's house to a house I would own because I do not have a role playing mate anymore.
The FCs house is "alive" with activity and people. If I need quiet I can always withdraw into my own cozy little library.

The forum is divided between those who have and those who have not. Majority of those who have are like SE white knight that see those who have not as low life that don't put enough efforts.

That's a pretty broad brush you're painting with there. I have a house, and I also have friends that have been saving up gil like crazy hoping that they're able to get plots when they become available. Most of us recognize the housing market for what it is and don't think less of people simply for not having had the gil at the very specific time that housing was actually available for purchase.

You too. News flash to both of you: not all of us that have houses are figuratively twirling our mustaches and laughing at the "have nots" like a villain in a dreadful play. Many of us have felt very bad for people about the housing situation for a long time now and have been supportive of measures to free up unused housing as well as asking for ways to implement new housing. Not all of us that have houses are blindly defending SE, either. I don't think there's any real way to argue the fact that they've made mistakes with how housing was handled. I mean, I own a personal house myself and I think that personal housing as it exists now was the hugest mistake they made with this system. On the other hand, they've also clearly have been trying to work on content to fix the situation. There's a difference between blind defense and being willing to give them a chance to rectify the mistake.

But yes, according to my experience, most rich people don't give a rats ass about people less fortunate. Bot IRL and ingame.
Esp the ones that never experienced life as a "poor pleb" since they lack the necessary data for comparisons.

Voices of warn and caution? You mean a bunch of 'THIS WON'T HELP AND I HAVE NO ALTERNATIVES TO SUGGEST THAT ARE REMOTELY FEASIBLE'? Because that's what was going on.

And, hey, you know what, it did help. There's people in multiple threads posting about how they are so happy that they finally got a house they could cry. And, just like I said back then--this is step 1. We now have a confirmed delivery date for new housing wards--3.3. Ishgard and apartments have also been confirmed.

But man, too busy saying 'I told you so' when the only thing you were right about was 'on specific date people will find a thing to whine about'.

I can do that, too--because it will literally always be true. I could choose any date and any update and people will be whining about it.
