Nero's gadget was a giant tease. If they don't go back to that at some point I'm going to scream, just like with the Shroud aether unbalance.

By Shroud Aether umbalance are you refering to the 2.55 MSQ bit? I thought that was just that Eorzea's Aetheric levels were trending downward. I don't think it was just the shroud.
Yes, the 2.55 scholar is what I'm referring to. Whatever that case was, it was a gigantic, utter tease and, in my opinion, extremely frustrating, since that's far more what I'm interested in than dragons. Look, dragons! And more dragons! Don't you like our dragons yet?!
Sorry, not trying to be bitter, I'm really not. I just felt like a lot of the Heavensward MSQ was sort of there to divert our attention away from the main focus. At least 3.X seems to be balancing it a bit better, though.
When i 1st saw it the title i thought it was something Allagan-related, especially since Sephirot is going to be a trial in the same patch. There are alot of Towers in Azys Lla, afterall.
I'd like to think it it might be an a MSQ dungeon which will lead into the Sephirot trial.
I think you'll find as 3.X progresses the thing with the dragons will feed right back into a bunch of those plot threads. Strickly speaking that info we got in that 2.55 quest was confirmation of what had already had been hinted. Hydaelyn was getting weaker. She is the source of aether and as she is weakened the Aether released into the world diminishes. Matoya's Eye and what we learned about the Crystals of Light indicate this is something that has been happening over a long time. The Ascians seem to have been fighting a war of attrition.Yes, the 2.55 scholar is what I'm referring to. So why is the HW stuff and the dragons relivent? Two reasons.
One is their age and nature. Dragons are very unlike most of the other creatures of Eorzea in both the nature of how they interact with Aether and the fact they aren't native. Their age also means they have been present in this conflict for most of its duration. Their knowledge of the past leaves ours in the dust.
Secondly is Midgarsormr and Silvertear lake. That location, which we will apparently learn more about this expansion, is probably the most important location in Eorzea, particularly to our meta war with the Ascians and its key guardian is a dragon.
I don't think we will be going back to the Warring Triad directly with the MSQ. The focus in 3.2 will be the build up to the conclusion of the Dragonsong war so I suspect Nidhogg is going to do something which we have to stop which will set off further repercussions. We have no idea what that dragon knows about and he is so pissed off he is not thinking about the consequences.
Midgardsormr is clearly related to the overall bigger picture, and I'm interested in him in general, but he was clearly underutilized by the HW MSQ. I expected quite a bit more from him in your head post 2.5. Instead, he had maybe 5 scenes total? post-Nabriales, post-Ul'Dah, and the 3 or so in HW itself.
And while I'm being completely honest, I'm not interested in Nidhogg or Hraesvelgr or Ratatoskr. At all. Even if Nidhogg's tantrum triggers the next chain of plot events, it still wouldn't interest me. Tiamat? Interesting. Bahamut? Interesting. I mean, good for you if you're interested for them, I'm not going to try to convince you otherwise, that's completely your choice and interests and I support that, but I'm not thrilled at seeing more of them.

Oh well. The Dragonsong war should be over by patch 3.3 or 3.4 so there is that. 3.2 is building towards the conclusion so the war should be over pretty soon. Im expecting Ascians and Garlemald to move into the center stage for the finale of 3.x.
Mark my words, The Dragons, Garlens, and Ascians are going to turn out to be the least of our worries. I get the feeling based on that book Uriange got from a certain white robed villain is going to end up revealing an foe so powerful that Light AND Darkness are both at risk of elimination.
Or I could still be on my doomsday high since I just finished Witcher 3 and stopped The White Frost.

Because I'm okay with this.
Maybe it's an upside down tower, hence AntiTower. The ruins descending down from Zenith would be a great place.
