I'm far from entirely content with this game right now, but I gotta agree with Kosmos here. Asking for this is just beyond lazy (we have teleports to practically every popular spot) and further removes XIV from FF in general. If Gold Saucer is boring to be in, focus your energy on pushing SE to make GS fun to be in, not turn the game in DF XIV.
so besides going to GS to get your daily cactpot, what other reason would make anyone go there if they did this ? Those mini games are a bit of time consuming and pretty sure if someone wants to play them that means they have nothing else to do at that moment. Being in a different place to queue up for that doesn't make sense when you can teleport there it's not that hard.
Because my 'down times' away from the action are when I'm waiting for a fate to spawn, or traveling between areas. Standing around doing nothing waiting for a queue to pop isn't fun and is a complete waste of time, and that's what you end up doing every time you try to do LoV/Chocobo racing.
I could teleport to GS, walk to the LoV area, join a queue, and sit there doing nothing until I get in and repeat that getting nothing in the way of rewards and dealing with pointless downtime standing around in one spot in Gold Saucer not actively interacting with anyon--or I could go do beast man dailies, or daily hunts, or sight seeing logs, or sell things on the MB/adjust prices, or any of the other things I do while DFing my roulettes.
OR, I could just log off and play another game that doesn't require me to sit around in one spot.
And that's why I haven't bothered with Chocobo Racing since it was new (or LoV at all). I'm already playing a game. It's already my downtime. If I'm not doing something fun on the game I have no reason to be here.
Given that, I don't see why asking to be able to queue for the various queuable GS attractions while doing other things--like we do for every other piece of content--is a big deal. I also don't understand why anyone would NOT want that.
You can do some other minigames in the GS while waiting for LoV or Racing queue.
But even if you can queue outside of GS, the queue time for the Racing will be not long enough to do something else than to stand around. Maybe max 1 minute before you get matched with NPCs.

Gold Saucer isn't boring to be in. But just look at the amount of people that are present in the Chocobo/Minion Square! Nearly NO ONE is there! If they give this option to queue for those minigames from anywhere, people will still be in the Gold Saucer, because the people who are in the Saucer aren't there for Chocobo Racing / LoV, they're there for TT, GATEs, Cactpot, the other minigames and just chilling.I'm far from entirely content with this game right now, but I gotta agree with Kosmos here. So yeah, basically, not many go to GS for Chocobo Racing and Lords of Verminion anyway, most of the people that are in the GS are in the main area, and not the Chocobo/Minion area. So making LoV and Chocobo Racing queueable from anywhere won't affect the number of people going to the Saucer by alot. I know for a fact that when I go to the Saucer its usually not for those minigames, so if they make this queuable from anywhere, it wont stop me from coming to the GS.

They keep adding to it, but look at TT and LoV, how similar in the mistakes they are that the games are hardly played. Plus, DF could fix the issues of these tournaments by making it so you can't choose who you're up against. Even keep it server side instead of data center, make instanced content within the world, etc. Besides, in every FF title I found the world exploring was only okay, and only really got good when I could either teleport everywhere or airship everywhere or golden chocobo everywhere. It's pretty much the same thing as exiting a city or dungeon and flying right to the GS and playing a game right away, which is how it's intended to be enjoyed, not the overly meta-gamed farms we have.I'm far from entirely content with this game right now, but I gotta agree with Kosmos here. Honestly, I wish we had *more* content that wasn't in the normal Duty Finder. I liked that the original Chimera and Hydra fights weren't tied to the Duty Finder--it gave them a sense of actually belonging in the world in a way that isn't really the case with just about everything else. So, everyone should just idle in Idyllshire waiting for DF to pop? Why even make this a real MMORPG, let's just make the game more client heavy and use instanced lobbies and instanced duties instead? That's kind of what you are saying. Isn't part of the game experience going to the places to do the things? I'm pretty sure that it used to be.
I very nearly didn't start playing this game because of the addition of the Duty Finder, honestly. I still love the game, but I do prefer the immersive nature of games that don't have it.
