Well, that's news to me. But interesting news. I know there are rewards to fill other people's groups as needed, but not of a general:"Duty finder" premium.

Now I'm curious: How big is it? And which instances don't let you limit break outside duty finder o.O? I could swear I even saw some LBs while FATEing in the hinterlands.

That aside: Not requiring a (server internal) group is a good thing IMO (even though you likely need it for many Hunts and certain FATEs). The bad part is when grouping is discouraged or downright impossible, like the story fights. It sucks to tell a friend:"And now you have to go on alone. Good luck, I'll be doing something else in the meantime." every time this comes around >_>

The Main problem with the gold saucer right now is that on many servers (especially the small servers) there are just not enough people doing the content.

This is mostly because of how Modern MMOs handle instances and how it grants more accessibility to the modern day players. Most players would rather que for a dungeon or content from anywhere in the world rather than walk (or teleport) all the way to a special room to do that content.
This is especially true if you go to that "special room" to que for the content, and no one else is in the room with you. Your only option is to stand in that room and wait for people to come play with you. From personal experience you can be standing there in que for at least 1 hour waiting. All alone, in the Lord of Verminion Square waiting for one hour...

At least in chocobo racing you can play against the NPCS. For LOV Tournaments your shit out of luck. You pretty much have to beg people to come play with you and trade wins back and forth. Win Trading in LOV has become somewhat of a problem due to how unpopular the mini game is.
On my server the majority of people that actually play LOV also Trade wins. If you try to play a normal game with win traders in the room they will pretty much blacklist you and/or wait for you to leave before continuing.

If the mini games were added into the duty finder and had the ability to be done from anywhere you would see a lot more people doing the content. Also, it would create a little bit of Anonymity, especially if the duty finder que was cross data center. Win trading during tournaments would be a lot less frequent or necessary.

There is a thread in the Gold Saucer sub-fourm that is currently talking about this problem. http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...nobody-playing

I also decided to quote two players from the FFXIV Reddit Subform that pretty much TLDR what I typed above. The Reddit link is below the comments.

So disappointing that they didn't make it match through Duty Finder and cross-server. Would make it much easier to find matches and a little harder to win trade.
Exactly! I spent 1.5 hours one night waiting for a match and couldn't bring myself to get back into after that.

I'm with the OP, I like to wait for queues while I do other things, like my daily hunts or beast quests. I would definitely participate more actively in Chocobo Racing if I could queue outside, instead of having to wait in there. I pay so I can play this game, not sit around in an empty area and wait for the game to start.

The reason why I don't play LoV (I'm sure it's an adorable, fun little mini game) but adore TT is because I don't have to queue for TT and I can do it while waiting for queues. Having to queue at all for mini-games kind of ruins the point for me.
