In FFXI, every job could use multiple weapons. Every other MMO has jobs using multiple weapons.

To be fair, in FFXI and every other MMO you played AS your job PERFORMING with a weapon, in FFXIV you play AS your weapon class and PERFORM a job. I'm not necessarily praising it quite yet, but that's just how it is. I'm sure there will still be a high degree of customization depending on which weapon classes you've leveled up. It might be unconventional, but I don't see why that means it has to lack potential.

It might make me an outcast but [ducks behind wall and shouts from behind it] I'm rather looking forward to trying it out. If it's not good, I'm sure demands for variance will be hammered into the forums in a universal torrent of fan-base nerdrage.
