Maybe there's a lore reason why that is. Isn't Thaumaturgy kind of the basis of Ishgard Religion? The Vault's Deacons use fire magic and two of the bosses use fire and rift magic.
Anima Weapons are mostly named after FFXI Empyrean Weapons. The models may be switched, but not the names.

I always felt they switched the i90 primal focus weapons in 2.1. The whm weapon is omnirod, a hideous old man head with blinking eyes. Blm got elder staff.
Yggdrasil is the entire world in norse mythology. Niflheim, where the spring is located, is the equivalent of the underworld. I do not consider the home of the dragon that is eating the roots of the world tree to be a holy place. They are for sure reversed and as a BLM myself it actually really bothers me. Even better? google the name of the black mage staff. It screams white mage lore, not black mage.
In Norse mythology, Hvergelmir (Old Norse "bubbling boiling spring"[1]) is a major spring. Hvergelmir is attested in the Poetic Edda, compiled in the 13th century from earlier traditional sources, and the Prose Edda, written in the 13th century by Snorri Sturluson. In the Poetic Edda, Hvergelmir is mentioned in a single stanza, which details that it is the location where liquid from the antlers of the stag Eikþyrnir flow, and that the spring, "whence all waters rise", is the source of numerous rivers.[2] The Prose Edda repeats this information and adds that the spring is located in Niflheim, that it is one of the three major springs at the primary roots of the cosmic tree Yggdrasil (the other two are Urðarbrunnr and Mímisbrunnr), and that within the spring are a vast amount of snakes and the dragon Níðhöggr.
As many know- the word "Yggdrasil" has always been a symbol for life/knowledge/light.![]()
