Most quests you can solo. It isn't until you reach cap or near cap level before you are needed later on.

I just bought 30 game time. I can't go through this crap again. I just want some company, idk. Soloing quests until Cap Level is not fun. I want to have fun with others, not real late later on.

Is it wrong I want another character to accompany me for a little while while I level up my new character?

I can't refund the game time and now I am questioning my decision why I bought it. I am so lonely

    Welcome!

Of course it isn't wrong to want company and friendship in this game! That's what online games are meant to be about! Sadly though, it's left to players to find people and make friends themselves - hence a good start is to perhaps have a look at the forum for your server and just see if there is any linkshells or Free Companies open to new people who just want some companionship in the game (and I'm sure there are), take note of their contact details (character name etc) and then make contact in the game (sadly the server forums are restricted to new players so you won't be able to post there yet, but you can still read them). The forum for Faerie can be found here.

I'd gladly friend you and help you out incidentally Akatsuki, but sadly, you're on a different server to me...

    Either way, don't give up!

A home in this game is a huge investment (if you can even get one at all, since plots are limited), and if you ever go more than a month and a half without using it, you lose it. It's not based on the number of users, though, just on how recently the owner (for personal houses) or an FC member (for FC houses) has entered it. So you can keep your FC house active so long as at least one member of your FC (guild) stays active.

This game alternates between solo and group content. Besides things like grouping for open world FATEs, which can be done at any time, the first (possible, but not mandatory) group content comes in at level 10 with short instanced mini-dungeons called Guildhests (designed for teaching the basics of group play). The first mandatory group dungeons within the Main Scenario quests come in at levels 15, 16, and 17. After that the Main Scenario goes back to a few more solo quests, followed by a group trial, back to solo for a somewhat longer stretch, then another group dungeon, and so on.

Then any dungeons you've reached in the story can be repeated as often as you want. Doing so is one of the fastest ways of leveling up, as well as giving you access to some of the best leveling gear, so most players include group content as at least a part of their regular gameplay from quite early on. These lower level dungeons and trials are with small groups of four players. The big raids are still at level cap (or at the previous level cap). But if you simply want to be working with others and not by yourself all the time, there are plenty of opportunities all the way through.

And, as Enkidoh said, find a friendly Free Company (FC, this game's "guild" equivalent), or start your own, or whatever. It'll make the game a lot more fun.

    Welcome to the game

As mentioned, the actual amount of solo-only quests are pretty small. Most quests, even if they aren't specifically "group content", can be done while in a party while socializing. Only the ones where you have to go in to a separate instance are the solo quests, a few main scenario quests and a few job quests but that's about it, the majority can be done in a party.

And it looks like you chose Gladiator to level up? Once you get to level 15 and start running dungeons, you will have near instant queues as a tank so you could level up mainly with dungeons and meet people (they may or may not be on your server) and start trying to make new friends that way, while spending very little time out in the solo world. You'll still need to do the main quests to unlock new dungeons and such along the way, but really you're only as alone as you make yourself in this game, there's almost always someone doing exactly what you are doing. I've met nearly all the people I know just by random chance encounters more or less, out doing a fate or running a dungeon.

Also it wouldn't hurt to ask around on your server and see if there is a new player linkshell. We have a few on leviathan and the people in them are generally friendly and will hep you run stuff, make gear and give tips/advice. Joining a linkshell is a good way to network and learn about free companies that you would fit in well with.

From a social stand point the most important part, and the most difficult, is finding a Free Company and/or Linkshell (basically a chat channel) that you fit in. I don't know about servers other than mine, but there's almost always multiple FC (free companies) recruiting on the Party Finder (and sometimes the shout channel). These can be hit and miss, but one place to look. Also check your server forums on this site. You can also sometimes make friends during FATE groups.

Solo content in this game is limited to job/class quest trials, some main story events and GC levequests. However levequests, guildhests, dungeons, FATE, treasure maps, hunting, etc... are all doable in a party. Most people don't realize that levequests can be done in a party, but they can and you both benefit of you both have the same levequest. When you initiate the levequest while in a party, it automatically initiates for anyone else in the party who accepted it as well. So you and your friends run the levequest together, making it pretty easy, and quick work.

Regarding Free Companies, there are some who spam the main beginner zones advertising. Personally I dislike these because randomly shouting at people to get them to join you is just another and annoying form of spamming. The same goes for those who just randomly invite you. there are recruitment offers in PF for new players, and some companies are very passive about it, with open recruitment but no active advertising. These might actually be a better fit as they may be more laid back - it depends what you are after. but as someone said earlier, look at the Free Companies of the people you meet in-game running FATE or hunting. talk to folks, find out about their FC, and see if it might fit you, and whether they are people you'd like to associate with.

You don't need to post in the Faerie forums, you probably have reached your forum post count for the day. Try again tomorrow, you can always browse the forums and /tell people in game and inquire about how they are that way .
Put yourself out there, you can't expect a good time to find you .

Pretty sure you need a certain character level to make a new thread outside newbie forum, but I can remember the requirement
