Do PS player need to buy HW on the PSN Store?

Hey guys i want to gift a friend of mine HW for Christmas but hes playing on a Ps and i play on Pc. So i have no clue whats the difference with Mog-Station and ADD Ons.
In the PSN Store you need t pay 50 bucks for Hw while a Pc Key coast 13...

Can PS player use Keys for HW in the Mog station?

It does NOT need to be bought on PSN, I have the physical version of the Heavensward CE and I play on ps4. The only one that forces you to buy it through them, is Steam.

It has to be the PS version, you can buy a physical copy at any game store, Amazon, etc. You may be able to get the physcial copy direct from Square Enix not sure.

It does not need to be purchased from PSN. He can use a physical copy so long as he also has ARR on the same console. As it stands, I'm not sure that HW can be purchased separately on PSN anymore. I know there was some weird change with that during launch.

Like PC that can only play games that says PC platform, it should be the same for PS3/4.

Yes, there will be a key inside the game case that can be entered on mog station, when they do that, they should receive a code they can input on the psn, using a physical copy though, psn won't read it as having been bought. So long as you buy your friend a key for the playstation 3/4 version (whichever version they have ARR of already), it will be fine. You cannot buy a pc license for a console version, however.

you can clearly see I have it registered to my account =)

But iam still kinda confused.. cause all those HW Keys you can buy from Sites are not PC / PS only etc...
So i dont know if i can buy that and it works..

what's the site you're buying from? Do they deal in other console games? If it's a site that deals only in PC games, they may just assume people would know that and not need to state it specifically
