My WHM co-healer in Void Ark didn't know anything else than Cure II and Medica II. You can imagine that their mana dropped faster than usual, but I wasn't in the mood of supporting bad healers, leaving me using all those Ewers I drew for either myself or Royal Road. But whatever, at some point in the game I learned to soloheal shit...
During the final boss, the bard told them that a WHM knows some more skills than just the two they were using, "Regen for example". And guess what, after this point they didn't use anything else than Regen.

Doing Aery today for relic. Boyfriend randomly d/c's right before the last boss. I'm on Skype with him via his phone and he starts swearing up a storm, he's not getting any connection at all. We wait for him for about 10 minutes while he's on the phone with ISP.

Apprently his area in NYC is completely without net and it won't be back until at least 6am EST. Poor guy went to bed so upset.

If he has tethering on his phone plan, FFXIV uses a shockingly small amount of data. I went through 7 MB in 40 minutes, for example. My internet has been terrible lately so I've been doing it a lot.

Void ark last night, party with two other DRGs that had slightly better gear than me.. I managed to pull the morbol on me rather quickly and I died. I complained to my friend via Skype and he said maybe I was just hitting too hard.. Then he was surprised when he pulled aggro (on bard) seconds later.

...and after we killed our morbol, I jumped to the other (which had 50% HP) and pulled hate after my first combo. I was so confused..

Also fun, we think the one DRG macroed BOTD, Second Wind, and ???. There were regular "/p Power Up," "/p Small Heal," and one very confusing "/p Power Strike." Just.. why???

the tank was in all Dragoon gear.

Out of curiosity, are you speaking generally as in scale mail, or are you speaking about those scale mail pieces that have lower mDef? Because some --while Dragoon-possible-- are clearly tank gear by looking at the stats ^^;

...one amusing thing, though. At one point I accidentally gave a Goad to the astro instead of the warrior. A moment later, I noticed he'd reciprocated with an Ewer. XD;;;;

And I'm just reminded of the first time ever I ran Qarn, around two years ago. I was tanking, my flatmate/FC-mate was a firestarter, and we randomed the other two. The healer was experienced, and didn't mind explaining, but the archer we had with us...

Long story short, we spent close to 45 minutes trying to get past the first boss, because the archer would not listen to "Doom = RUN to glowy platform. now." and kept staying up on that dirt hill in the back -_- Half the time he waited until he got a Raise tossed his way, but the other half of the time he'd respawn at the start before the healer had time to say "not again D:"
Finally we were all "Nope, this isn't working. Let's abandon."

It took us close to four months to work up the will to try it again, and this time only because we'd made friends in the game who were willing to come with us.

In hindsight, we should probably have kicked that archer after the second wipe and gotten a new one, but first of all, we were babies back then, secondly I'm not sure if votekick worked the way it does now, and...well. I was a lot less jaded with DF, and willing to think the best of people, even when they repeatedly proved me wrong. ^^;

This is my story as healer
_Go to the vault and have a drk tank with all lv50 gears but like to do big pull, i asked him to use unleash more cause the blm keep getting overhate almost everytime and he just said "le mana", he not used blood price when doing mods clear but used it in solo boss fight and he keep spamming dark art.
_Go to the library, have a group of 3 seem like they are playing together, the pld use sword oath, i think he forget to change it so i ask him change to shield oath and he said "i want more damage for faster clear", the blm and mnk are terrible, at 1st boss they get all the hit from the boss, the blm didnt even mind to go away from the AOE, just standing casting and yelling "why dont you heal me", we got wipe 3 times and then i have a "look like we have a bad healer here" and being voted kick after that.

Boyfriend and I decided to run Void Ark today to get our weekly item etc.

Was a good run until the end (no one really talked at all but no wipes etc.).
But then I ran into two stand up citizens proving that you don't even need a reason to treat fellow players like garbage.

Tank skirt dropped and I had decided to greed it (I was on BLM) and I mostly had all my caster gear from there already. A minute passed or so and I sensed there was a problem since everything dropped except for the skirt and there was two other players still in the instance from my party. A Tank and a BLM.

The Tank (in pink) first tried to con me into leaving pretending that they did not have the skirt and that they were gonna need on it.
It didn't work because I actually saw them wearing it earlier on in the run (they actually swapped gear after it dropped to make it look like they didn't have it). Apparently they wanted their friend to get it and not me.

Then the Tank proceeded to threaten to discard their tank skirt and need on it anyway.
This didn't work either because I really don't care that much about pixels; so I told them to go ahead if they wanted to do that.

The "friend" (in yellow) tries to get me to tell them what I rolled. Yeah, I bet if I told them that and my roll was higher than theirs the Tank would drop his skirt and need on it.
They proceed to make all three of us sit and wait for the loot to time out because one of them isn't rolling hoping I'd give up and leave.

The sad part of this story...when tank skirt dropped if they just would have asked me nicely to pass because they would really like the skirt; I would have passed to them because I don't mind passing something to someone who really wants it especially if I am taking it for an alt-job. Instead they tried to con me, threaten me, and overall treat me like garbage just because I happen to be there and rolled on something they wanted.

Karma smacked them both in the face because I guess the tank did not want to chance taking a winning roll from their friend. So I ended up winning the skirt.

This was most pathetic thing I've seen in a MMO in a long time, if ever, and I've even played WoW.

First time I have ever seen that happen^ Now for my story...I was in a run earlier I mentioned what gear I was after, entire party agreed on letting me have it...later I started lagging so I told them I may be a bit delayed cause of such and one of the pieces I needed dropped eventually figured I would get it...well I didn't and I asked why just to see if they did actually need it and forgot or something, the reply I got astounds me still, the reply I got was "You said you were lagging which means you will not be doing as much as everyone else in the party. therefore you forfeit your right to roll on anything" Since when was that a thing? lol

Just had the greatest void ark. 3 full vit specced paladins, all of whom did less damage than garuda egi. Yelling at me, an astrologian, to stop dpsing in cleric stance because our tank stood in the stupid zone and ate a tank buster with no cooldowns, resulting in his unfortunate demise. This carries on through the entire dungeon. One or two people on each fight will die because they stood in stupid and were too far away from the tank, who i now realize i have to hard carry because they lost every button that isn't rampart ("I've been using cooldowns the whole time!") somewhere. "I died to poison before the wipe and almost did again just now" the dps says while he's the only one in the group without aspected helios on.

I would've been less pissed off if my co-healer scholar wasn't the top dps in our alliance. I can tell this because they never left cleric stance and were competing with me for the #2 enmity spot.

Cutters Cry, low level duty roulette.

I was there as a healer and it was nice as first. I did damage to speed up things, but it still took longer than expected. Then I stay on healing and watched both DPS. Well, there was a BLM who used Ice II only on mob groups and Fire III only on single target.

At first, I m ignored that, but later then I m asked him, why he dont use Fire III -> Fire II on mob groups instead of Ice II. His answer was:

"If I use Fire II, I m running out of mana."
and "Ice II isnt that bad."

I stood right before the last boss and I had no idea how to react to this. Laughing? Crying? Kick him? No, i just ignored it and hoping that we never met again.
