My only problem with the last step is the millions upon millions of gil you need, me being gil handicap in this game and hardly able to get 1 million I'm locked out of this just cause I'm poor :/

I agree with the original poster of this thread. its like once this game started to make money they stopped making real content and decided to go the way of free-to-play grinding... except with a subscription....

This relic quest line made me remember the hell it was to go for Star Ocean 4 platinum trophy on PS3. I'm not going to jump on this fire ever again. The time I will need to spend doing this pointless progress I can play many other games and actually have fun playing a game.

I spent nearly 3 months away from this game playing many titles from PC to consoles. Came back to FFXIV because of my friends and the hope that this Relic would be fun. I logged on to come to face this atrocity of patch and quest line. I'll just get a ilv 200 weapon and be done with it, unsub and play something else until comes something worth my money.

Those that love this game please don't mind my rant and continue having fun your way. I too had many fun moments on FFXIV, but now I really feel that the latest patch let me down on all of my expectations on this and I can't feel any love for this game anymore. It's just disappointment after disappointment.

could always go to diadem and farm the materials you need and/or farm to make some gil? Most people instead of saying "i dont have gil" just go out and make it.. .. ..

I mean, you have a 60 weaver and a 60 botanist. There are plenty of things you could be farming/crafting and making a ton of gil. Im confused how you are locked out. Unless its just you dont want to farm or craft but blame SE because of a choice you are making.

You are also in a FC, nobody in your FC crafts?

You would be surprised how many FC's simply don't wanna bother with this...which is quite a lot by the way. As for botany and Weaver...even then you are limited because you need other crafts to make the stuff that sells. #Logic

Stuff is now 250k or less, barring kingcakes 300k and francesca 500k. The mats for this stuff is very cheap/easily gathered and the craft itself is babies too. Go out and mingle.

That is in a populated server with veteran crafters. In a small server those things are ALOT more expensive. Thus your ability to make the relic is also heavily based on your server's population & economy. This was raised many times in other threads especially those in a smaller server & people's response to that was " oh just server transfer.", that is a terrible solution, server transfer should never be an option while bigger servers do prove to have its advantages.

Balmung has 3 times the population as siren,jenova etc. This was released just last month.

Besides the specialist locked recipe & gil needed I think or the grind I believe its something more that is causing the outrage. Although most of the constructive and valid points are being buried by senseless whining, many players have voiced out what is really the genuine problem.We were promised something different during live letters.Reused content that we have been already doing it during Pre HW and during 3.0 hundreds of time, although it fixes the current issues at the moment such as dead fates in HW maps, Alexander NM being dead it shouldn't be something throw into relic, well at least to many it seems unethical.
