Trying to suppress these options is no good for the SE or the game. Assuming that everyone who isn't fond of this implementation wants an "I win" button is a stretch. There are legitimate concerns about RNG progression and crafted items.

SE remade this game into success because of all the negative feedback it received. I'd rather SE receive feedback now about specifics, than later when budgeting and wondering where their subscriber went.
Overall I agree with you! But there is a very big difference between BITCHING and CRITICIZING. One is just a narcissist insisting on others pleasing him/her, the other is a form of a genuine complaint that is FOLLOWED BY POSITIVE SUGGESTIONS.

Other then weapon stats being completely pathetic for the most part, the only issue I have with the relic quest is the last step being completely idiotic. The other 2 steps were acceptable. The whole do Alex Normal runs an ungodly amount of times alongside crafting a bunch of stuff to craft item which are all specialist recipes some of which are requiring other items that are also different specialist recipes basically mean you cannot do this by yourself. You'll need to pony up ungodly amounts of gil for the corrupt market board or be in a FC to make your life slightly easier.

That said if I can muster myself to craft the Alchemist materials and crash the market prices I wager it would be most amusing.

The relic is supposed to be grindy and hard to get. If you're a casual player, the i200 is more than enough, or even the Thordan weapon. If you want a i210 weapon, work for it. People who bitch about grinding things have never played MMOs in their lives. Grinding is a part of any MMO.

I even get the distaste over the crafted items. I'm in the largest fc on my server, so for someone like me, getting those items won't be that bad. But I get the people who aren't as lucky. It's primarily the people who are bitching about the effort vs reward, or those who are talking about these weapons as if they are mandatory are the ones I'm taking issue with. I'm not going to repeat my reasons for feeling this way, as I've already said it as clear as I can.

And as Gomiki perfectly stated, there's a difference between bitching and feedback. Most of what I'm reading is "This is too hard. SE you're all a bunch of idiots. Blah blah blah." And as for the people who aren't complaining about the effort and difficulty, so much as the implementation, I feel your complaints would be better received if you paired it with a suggestion on how the game could be made better. Aimless bitching and telling people, in this case, SE what you don't like is far less useful as feedback than telling them what you DO want to see. Just my 2 gil on the matter.

Content too hard? Too much rng? Too much effort for the item you want?

    Hello everyone,
I have to split my feedback, as I’m only allowed to post 1.000 characters. Sorry in advance for the long text.
I'd just use this Topic to give my opinion about the 3.0 Relic Quest. However, I'm a Player who turned in his Zeta, so I cannot say anything about the Fate grind part.
I'd like to start with the positive things:
    - Different Options to obtain the token items, that can fit in pretty well into someone's daily Routine.
    - The crafting material is not too hard to obtain.
    - I feel like it was pretty well thought through, how to obtain these items. It uses pretty much "dead" Content that won't hurt too much. I'd like to give examples:

    1. Alexander Gear is the "fresh Level 60 gear", which you can obtain while farming the token items in Alex.
    2. Poetics and Law usage is down to crafting materials or desynthesis Leveling stuff. So it does not hurt most People to spend these Stones. Esoteric Stones are untouched and you can obtain the other 2 while getting esoterics.
    3. You can still obtain Centrurio Seals, while obtaining Allied Seals, which are almost pretty much useless (except for Glamour).
The "hurting" part hits mostly high Level crafters who use their Law Stones and their Beastmen allowances to obtain crafting materials for Law and Ixal Crafting materials.

My opinion how this should have been done and why:
As HW brought quite a amount of new Players to this game, many of them might consider the Anima Weapon their "first relic". Also the Anima is a new Relic which is item Level 210 during a state of the game where we are probably 1,5-2 Months away from getting an item Level increase. It would not hurt that much to consider a quest line, similar to the "first" Relic in 2.0, as in completing a few dungeons, put down Primals (i.e.: Thordan normal, Bismarck Ex, Ravanna Ex) + adding a "new" Trial like let's say: Hydra Ex. Mix this together with an item bought from Law and an item for Esc tomes (lets say 600) and done.

The newer Players were busy getting the 2.0-3.1 Story done... a Job or 2 to 60... gearing them and so on. Most of them do not have the "classic" beastmen quests done or still hesitate to do alexander, so they are quite limited in Options to get token items. I have a feel this might cause a lot of Demotivation to them, too.

Well, but we can't help it... it's too late for this unless you send us another dalamund

A kinda quick fix for this Situation would be:
    - Make 4 new "token" items and replace them in Alex, Map-Chests, Law-Poetics NPCs, Beastmen trade NPCs... and so on.
    - Require 10 of these new items, instead of the 20 of the old.
    - Set up a new (temporary) NPC that trades 1 "old" token items to a "new token item" of our choice.

With the above solution, you easen up the Situation to a quite reasonable amount of time of 2-3 Weeks max. And you do not hurt Players who already have gathered 20 unidentifiable ores. They could trade them in for 10 of "new item 1" and 10 of "new item 2".

Thanks for reading if you managed to get here

Here's the thing.... effort vs reward has absolutely ZIP to do with whether or not an item is considered mandatory or not. The fact is, the effort vs reward on this is skewed, by alot. Not just a little. Yes, it is currently the best you can get (or one of the best? Not sure as I'm still rocking my 180s). But the sheer amount of time required to complete this is astronomically higher than any other means of attaining a similar weapon. And that isn't even taking into consideration the cost. There's grinding, and there's this. It needs to be adjusted. It can STILL be difficult, time consuming, expensive and grindy without requiring 400 dungeon runs.

I stole that comment from someone else on another gaming board. Sorry, random. SE won't read your comment if it's not on the official boards.

    Anima weapons are a rip-off.

EDIT: And why the hell is Moogle Miniature not a table-top item? srsly SE, you're trolling us all over the place with this new anima weapon grind.......

    (My first post)
    Have you farmed 2.2 atmas?
Cause the drop rate for the elements aren't as bad as atma's were. By a Long shot.
Ffxi at its finest time took 2 real life years to complete the relics.
Plus all MMO are a grind nothing is ever easy. If you want it, then work for it.
