I want to thank SE and Yoshida for adding the Relic questline like this. I will be doing Phase 1 and 2 then enjoy the holiday and do Phase 3 if they nerf it in 3.4-3.5.

Exactly this, the items are selling for over 2 million+ per on my server and I don't craft...doubt anyones gonna make it for not overpriced prices so...yeah not buying overpriced crap for something that shouldn't even be locked behind crafting like this. Edit I checked MB and added up how much it all costs, It came to about 36million which is the price of a mansion on Siren....if I had that much gil I would honestly just buy the mansion and pretend the weapon didn't exist.

No one complained because at the end of the day they knew that if one day they ever got it, it wouldn't be replaced 3-6 months later.

Nobody complained because the weapons were very powerful (1 weapon in your 18 ppl group was game changing) and meant to be worked on with the full backup of your linkshell. This wasn't a solo endeavor (initially).

Comparing the Relic from XI to the "relic" of XIV shouldn't be called a relic. Its very demeaning of the word and I'm quite surprised its still used. There is no "relic" in XIV just unique appearances.

3-6 months? These relics will be obsolete before most people ever get them! 3.2 is only two months away at most and most players will take longer than that to finish the third stage of the relic. This grind is quite literally pointless.

Different time back then. Not many F2P games. The team in charge of XI from the beginning to before Abyssea cared very little about what the players thought, no official forums. They put content in, if you didn't like it too bad. If you complained they didn't care most of the time and rarely responded to community concerns. In general it was just how the game was where everything took a while to get and anyone that played it enough to get to cap mostly accepted it.

Nice thats a lot of gil. I just spent 32mil on a medium house in Lavender beds, ward 5 plot 11 for our FC. It also came with an airship. This lame excuse for a relic quest is beyond stupid. I am glad I already have my Ilevel200 Eso weapon so I can skip this crap entirely.

There is NO WAY I will fill the pockets of already rich people while I myself gets poorer.

What I'm getting at is the work doesn't match the reward and even if it did. Sometimes just taking a break let's you skip all the things you dislike. I quit after leviathan patch, came back. For 3.0. And hear all these stories of people grinding things they hate for content I didn't even have to do. I'm already caught up to people who were playing the entire time I was gone. So my friends grind literally means nothing right now. Future version of me will be happy that I skipped this entire process.
