Hahahahahaha Atma all over again
Kill me now please ;w;

I quit the game over the last Atmas after they had burned away any remaining spark of joy I had left in me.
If these are anything like the original Atmas, I may as well quit today xD

Honestly, if anyone thought the new relics were going to be a quick 5 minute fetch quest, you set yourself up for a massive disappointment.

No one said it should be easy =.=
I didn't mind farming light, even when it sometimes took forever; I didn't mind gathering Alex and I only was mildly unhappy with the vast amounts of money I poured into Materia and the other items we needed for other steps of the original relic.
But Atmas? That was just horrible. Because RNG was involved. With any other step (ecxept for the dungeon items ) you had a clear goal, and even if it sometimes felt incredibly slow getting there, every step you made brought you closer to that goal. With Atmas though, I ran a neverending marathon and yet someone kept moving the goalpost, because I never got any step closer to the goal. I'm not up for that kind of thing again x.x

Yea, I would much rather spend 20 hours doing mind-numbing content that's accomplish-able while I'm tabbed catching up on "Arrow". Which is pretty nice at times.

Yoshi-p said the atma step was step 1, which can be skipped by having a Zeta to exchange, basically using the stored soul energy from the zeta instead of going out and getting these new atma-like stones.

Do you have a source for this? I don't pay attention to streams. If that's the case, it makes me ecstatic...

I did every step unnerfed, but my god, I can't spend another 140+ hours grinding for atma again.. I nearly quit the first time.

don't have it to hand, was something of a while ago. He was saying it in a live letter i think? about how even he didn't want to do that again and was glad he could skip it.

extra: obviously this doesn't help anyone playing MCH/DRK/AST since you don't have a zeta. unless the rumour about being able to exchange any zeta toward your chosen class is true. but i couldn't find anything about that myself.

Zetas are so easy to get now you're better off just completing it in like 4 hours and trading it in to skip the step
