By your logic, anyone who wants anything changing in this game is selfish since someone is going to like it and someone isn't. Stop making pathetic arguments.
I wouldn't even call it cutesy, the legs just don't move as much as the male version. and the male version is more....aggressive. People just didn't realize their were 2 different versions. and now they see both they are shocked. Are you? I never said that at all.
Power and intimation doesn't necessarily = masculine OR feminine. What I said is it shouldn't be cutesy. It's supposed to be a war dance. It can convey power and emotion even in a more muted way than the male version. What we have now...doesn't. My character looks like she's just not feeling it through most of the dance.
Some people like the current version, and that's fine. I don't, so I won't use it much. *shrug*
Point still stands. if you don't like the dance don't use it and if it's so important that you do have one dance then fantasia.
I will give one thing, the female variant looks rigid and less fluid than a female haka.
the Male variants of both the Haka and Sundrop Dance are to symbolise the power and ferocity by sharply displaying powerful actions.
The female haka is suppose to be more fluid so the female sundrop dance looking a bit jerky rather than fluid seems odd to me.
How ever I personally don't see an equality issue here as much as an entitlement.
It really does go back to the glamour argument and a double standard for male avatars. Like how the bunny ears have no design based issue that would limit them from males but on the flip side, most of the female glamours like the full bunny outfit would be nearly impossible to translate so they shouldn't be.
Both genders got the dance AND some variety. Keep up bashing square's variety and they may decide to make a patch full of bland, uninteresting, armors that look exactly the same no matter who or what is wearing it. THAT would be tragic.
They sorta already do that with the majority of the gear now, especially with the seasonal event gear sets that aren't swimwear.
My point. Maybe if they were praised for what they did good with once in a while they'd feel more obligated to go out on a limb and be creative.
It's very rarely constructive criticism on these forums.
What's all this gender equality crap being thrown around? It's about an emote being garbage some didn't know was what was coming when they requested a specific dance, not equal treatment hippy nonsense.
Kinda selfish to declare the use of a fantasia by those that don't like it because you do, when there's a non-selfish option out there that could be called "Sundrop Dance A/B toggle" instead.
Yeah, but that option doesn't exist and probably won't. So either go fantasia to get the dance you people apparently just *need* so badly, or deal with it. Or, y'know, continue whining on the forums like self-entitled children about a very minor aspect of the game that doesn't happen to suit your aesthetic tastes. I'll need a minute to fetch the world's smallest violin. What's all this gender equality crap being thrown around? Might want to look up the word selfish, because wanting everything is pretty much the definition.
All of these demands for these stupid toggles has resulted in a homogenized game with almost no character. God forbid racial and gender choices actually had some aesthetic meaning and definition in a video game. But wouldn't want the selfish lot to get all upset because they can't stand the thought of someone else's choices granting them things they might not have access to.
Lame dance is lame. Not going to waste my time doing quests to get it.
