In the context of the Vanu questline, it's a war dance meant to show power and intimidate opponents. It shouldn't be cutesy.
I get that it's inspired by an actual dance, and that the female version irl is a bit more muted, but still.

Kinda selfish to want the dance changed when there are actually people who like it as it is. If you must have the male dance because it's so important to you then use fantasia simple.
This was what i was about to post.Whether you like it or not, it is based on the haka, a real life dance. The males are more aggressive while the females exhibit softer movements. Study up.

Right, a female dance should be just as manly and masculine as the male version. You serious?
Here ya go:
(pardon my cursor in the middle just realized after the thing was done lol)
It kinda DOES look better on my highlander than it looked on my Au ra but I'd LOVE to have the male version everyone was actually asking for >_>
I guess that's the problem ppl have with the dance (besides also looking stiff as hell): We don't want to be refined and cutesy while performing something that is intended to be a intimidating war/battle dance
Also both males and females asked for the dance w/o knowing there are/will be 2 different versions
Well it's a bloody battle dance why even the need to gender it??
It's not that big a deal honestly, but I'll throw in my two cents:
It looks bad. Female anyway. It's stiff. Period. Like...No one goes to the Vanu Vanu dance thinking about the female equivalent. No. They look at it from the male side. That's what was requested. Not the softer side of things. It may be a nod to real culture, but having the dance in general is also a nod to real culture. So what's the issue with shifting the animations to be the same?
But I get it. Everyone wants to be a special snowflake. So have at it.![]()

This is our future. Our story.

Are you? I never said that at all.
Power and intimation doesn't necessarily = masculine OR feminine. What I said is it shouldn't be cutesy. It's supposed to be a war dance. It can convey power and emotion even in a more muted way than the male version. What we have now...doesn't. My character looks like she's just not feeling it through most of the dance.
Some people like the current version, and that's fine. I don't, so I won't use it much. *shrug*

People are missing the point that it's not the dance itself but the pride and spirit you emit from the dance. This is the dance the females got. This is the dance we will keep. Whether you accept it or not is just too bad. Gender Equality is a myth and will never exist in any game made by the JP development team. The true is that anything that is added to this game, will have it's JP counterpart tended to first before anyone else. SE isn't going to break from this mindset. SE tried to add western influence and look what happen. *coughFFXIII*cough* The fans have spoken and SE has responded to their words.

				It's just a game.

While I understand the reasoning for the "softer" female version, it isn't softer.. it's quite literally robotic. It could be made a lot better without having the same energy as the male version.
