So then what's the point? You already got an ability that boosts damage and speeds up auto-attacks and another that boosts damage further while burning up MP. Sorry, but if you want to pump out the deeps, go play a DPS class. Your idea is simply a disaster waiting to happen if it comes to light.
Anyone else feel they could've just made the Great Sword a dual class like arcanist? Have Rune Fencer (FFXI) as the tank and DRK as DPS.

You seem to disregard the current meta where tanks are out of their tank stance as often as they can be, even when MT'ing.
No, because they've already said multiple times that they didn't really like how that turned out.
Plus, DRK has no class associated with it.

I would be more for a reaper class that actually uses the traditional great scythe and sacrificial hp for damage. Dark knight got changed away from ffxi, there's no going back now.

WAR has highest OT DPS only. DRK has highest MT DPS. It's a well-known fact by the high-end tanking community and that's why DRK is currently the preferred MT for Savage. DRKs already do a shitton of damage and are already gaining "power" when losing HP in some way with Blood Price, we don't need any suicide ability.
Any Dark Knight in this game that has experienced the horror of Heavenly Heel will tell you to keep that DRK tradition out of this one.
Source: I'm one of them.

My personal experience with "DPS" Dark Knights during the release of Heavensward and even now has given me enough insight to safely say that this would be an ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE idea.
