Wings instead of JUST flying mounts?

As soon as the "Lightning returns" and "<insert event with items no longer able to be obtained>" threads stop.

However, I recall at one point, dream or not but didn't we already have a scene of us flying before? I think it was well before even the Extreme primals. Sometime around when we first meet Cid?

I honestly think having wings is as much a no as fenrir flying. Tell me when has fenrir ever flown in ff. I think fenrir flying would be more lore braking. But no one seems to have a problem with that. So why do they have a problem with wings.

Mounts are one of the things along with pets/minions I enjoy the most in a/the game. I hate it whenever Dev's decide to nerf mounts or make them useless.

If we had wings like OP suggested nobody would bother to take a mount or use a mount, rendering them to useless.

The day that mounts would become useless will be a sad day for me. Also, it would be ashame for all the recources used to design them, not to mention the money people spent to get some of them.

What brought you to that conclusion? Why would they need to be different from any mount already in the game? I'd sure as heck still use my other mounts. I like my other mounts.

Honestly for me it's less lore breaking and more that wings are obnoxious as hell in every other MMO, so they would probably be obnoxious here too.

So please se if you don't want to put wings in this game deny the requests for fenrir to fly as well. I think it be kinda stupid and silly to see a wolf fly. Also, wings don't require months of saving up a currency / winning a very low chance lottery to buy....

Yeah I can get why people don't want Fenrir to become "obsolete" in Heavensward areas, so I don't mind much flying Fenrir (or adamantoise).

It's not just wings I want. It's the ability to travel without the use of a secondary item. Wings, wingless flight, even a sprint that's as useful as a ground mount. I've wanted this in every MMO I've played, and the one time I finally got to use it (Champions Online), it was awesome.
I don't see what the problem is so long as it's cosmetic. We have more than enough lore to support being able to travel without a mount by now. In the summoner questline I could fly with my own power. The common (non-playable) dragoon can leap as fast as a flying mount. Yet the closest I can get to not having to ride something to get around is the broomstick, which at least isn't large enough to eclipse my character.

When will the wing requests stop...?

Probably around the time we get them.

What's the difference? Frankly, the more separated from reality Final Fantasy is, the neater it becomes.

And what's with all these poisonous replies? Did wings kill your father or something? Wings are awesome, of course we'd want them.

Not gonna prod the lore or mechanics reasoning, I'm just gonna be honest and say I don't want them as they'd look extremely tacky and cheap as hell no matter how well animated. Besides don't need some other reason for them to get lazy with mount designs.

A solid No to the wings, yes to maybe having a servant moogle carry me somewhere.
