Wings instead of JUST flying mounts?

Am I the only one that would kind of prefer wings to fly with instead of flying mounts all the time? I know they serve as both land and air transportation but wings would be just be awesome! Heck, have Cid make jet packs if not, I know he can do it!

Same difference has having 20+ different flying mounts? Even though some of them are just recolored now. Mounts never played a role in this game other than transportation and I dont think everyone wants to look the same getting from place to place. AND I WANT WINGS!

That aside though, I was thinking the mechanics could work similar to the ahriman since it can do both and never actually touches the ground. Apply the same technique without the ragdoll legs of course lol.

We had a thread earlier about this very topic. The general consensus was more along 80% No 20% Yes. As for me, I am firmly in the no wings camp. I would love wings during something like popping Hallowed Ground, but never wings as a flying mount. That's just too Korean Cash Shop MMO to me. Just like I'm happy you can't fly in sanctuary areas like Idyllshire

I was gonna say, lore wise it doesn't fit at all with FFXIV for races to have actual feathery wings. There are MMO's out there with that aesthetic but its not this one. The closest I could think of that would fit would be canvas/more mechanical style wings made by goblins etc since I think there is a mob called a Goblin Glider that exists but that would really just be a new kind of mount that probably attaches with a harness.

But people wanting the turtle mount and the Fenrir mount to fly isn't silly and lore breaking then? Player made wings would help save development time since we don't need a billion flying mounts anymore.
