You left out the fact that Defiance is only a 20% boost to healing (compared to effectively 25% on Shield Oath/Grit), and that it doesn't affect healing abilities like Tetragrammaton, Lustrate or Essential Dignity at all. That's a pretty noticeable disadvantage.

Putting it in the tank stance section, as far as I am aware, this disadvantage doesn't stop it from being essentially the same mathematical eHP boost as from Grit/ShO, does it?

IIRC:

PLD/DRK 16K HP. Adlo on ShO PLD/Grit DRK for 3K. 3K shield. Boss hits for 10K mitigated to 8K through ShO/Grit, DRK/PLD takes 5K damage, 11K HP left.
WAR 16K HP, 20K in Def. Adlo on Def WAR for 3K. 3.6K shield. Boss hits for 10K. WAR takes 6.4K. 13.6K left, roughly 11K x 1.2-1.25.

PLD with 16k, WAR with 20k. A 5k hit on PLD will be mitigated to 4k, leaving them at 12k (75%). A 5k hit on WAR leaves them at 15k (75%). PLD gets healed for 2k from a Cure and ends up at 14k (87.5%). WAR gets healed for 2k*1.2=2.4k and ends up at 17.4k (87%). There's a difference in healing after a hit.

Or a PLD gets healed by Lustrate for 4k and ends up at 100%. The WAR gets healed by Lustrate for 4k (not affected by Defiance at all) and ends up at 19k (95%).
