I think you got it wrong, the less people clering Thordan EX and getting their weapons, the more likely they will release Gobdip.I think they learned from Ramuh Ex that it's not a good idea for stuff to be dead on arrival or in the patch it was released in. If not enough people clear Thordan, they won't completely remove any reason to do thordan before the next major patch. That said, in every release, they have not gone past the maximum Ilvl so I don't see it happening.
The relic WILL be at least 210 and better then the Thordan weapon gurantee it, otherwise it defeats the purpose of the weapon. As the post before me says it depends on Thordan for the Gobdip (upgrade for Eso wep) not the relic, seems to be a lot of confusion about that.I think they learned from Ramuh Ex that it's not a good idea for stuff to be dead on arrival or in the patch it was released in. There can be relic quest exclusive trials, like Chimera and Hydra were for the 2.0 relic quest.
A trial where you have to fight with a party against a huge and dangerous monster, because you need something from it for the quest. SE can use for it a dungeon boss or a hunt enemy.
Simple to do, nothing to create from the start. Even the arena can be just a instanced part of the open world, like the Chimera battle.

I am hoping they do that, but going off the info weve been told so far Yoshi hasnt said anything about adding any trials etc in 3.15. Unless we get a sneaky Christmas present maybe you never know. There can be relic quest exclusive trials, like Chimera and Hydra were for the 2.0 relic quest.

They'll probably i205 in 3.15 and more than likely i210 in 3.17/3.18 (whatever number they pick). Relic weapons have never been higher item level than the ones from the highest raid, and they are usually not equal to the highest raid weapons when they're first released. Since the Gordian weapons from AS4 are i210 (and not the i215 we would have once expected), the Anima weapons are likely to cap out at i210 a bit before 3.2 launches, if they follow the trends from ARR.
This line specifically makes me think that we'll be working with Gerolt and this researcher to create something from scratch rather than what we had previously, which was breathing new life into an ancient relic and then upgrading that relic.
So i would not be surprised if they cut Crafters out entirely and have Gerolt forge the weapons from scratch. (Mayhaps Crafters will create some of the base materials rather than providing the weapon itself?)Through a chance encounter with the master craftsman Gerolt, he and the legendary blacksmith have joined forces to create a weapon the likes of which the realm has never seen.
The skip may have something to do with:
Perhaps the story for this new Relic is going to be Gerolt forging us one of his masterwork original weapons and then the researcher infuses a soul into this mastercrafted weapon. Given how it deals with Souls, perhaps having the previous Relic in its completed form will provide whatever catalyst is required for the soul infusion, thus skipping the initial soul acquisition phase?Anima, an essence he considers to be a reflection of the soul.
Of course, i could be way off base and completely wrong. Either way, I'm keen to see how they handle this new Relic.
Thinking about how the Zodiac relic was supposed to gain sentience and this thing with souls...it would be interesting if the Anima weapons actually DO have personalities, and using Zodiacs can let you give a different one from what a specific weapon would usually have. (As in, if I used my DRG Zeta for a new DRK Anima, it would have what would usually be the DRG personallity instead of the DRK one.)
Probably not, but still...thoughts.
I'm just getting ready for a lot of time spent farming a lot of Fates in 3.x areas, in the same manner as the unadjusted fate Atma in 2.x areas.
Seeing as part of the quest takes place in Azys and the name "Anima" (which means soul), I'm wondering if Proto Ultima (which is colored like the original Atma/Ultima Weapon) may tie into the quest.
You'd think that, but then Bismarck EX happened.I think they learned from Ramuh Ex that it's not a good idea for stuff to be dead on arrival or in the patch it was released in.
