Game is going through first time set up again?

I'm running the Ps4 version of the game and I have never heard of of this version losing all the patches. I currently have the patch from February 2nd 2015 being redownloaded. Even more so my Ps4 just told me about an hour ago that 3.48 was downloaded despite it actually going live on the 30th and me playing before and after that day.

While it's probably a big bother your characters are completely safe because they are stored on the server. You might have to redo your personal settings though.

I've had one issue with a Destiny update but that was more on my end of the net dropping during the update. However with 14, I haven't had any issues with this game in terms of corruption. I followed the correct ways to log out of the game as well instead of closing from the psn menu as well. Which is what brings me back to the issue of the game "losing" the updates since I played last night at 4am cst, how did this happen with that 8 hours of me not being logged in? Not a single thing through the lodestone or mogstation has been altered, so I'm more inclined to think this is a psn/ps4 issue that somewhere somehow failed to properly backup or shut off my console.
