Guys please. You not owning a house didn't make you unsub but making unsubbed people lose their house will guarantee that they never come back. Unless you start spending money on the cash shop for 15 dollars a month or more, you're worth less to SE than them trying to get resubs. As they say, more money for SE is always a good thing. You getting a house this year (or never) is not going to matter to SE because you're still here only paying 15 dollar a month and still would be regardless of whatever.

Think about it, having a house or having more people to play with, which is better? Of course it's the latter. :^)

Good, for those who actually do lose a house have even less of a stand than before when the game is offered to them for free.

I think people in here have every right to complain about this issue. The way I see it they're paying for a product and NOT RECEIVING THE FULL PRODUCT. Don't you think that would make people angry? I sure am and I'm fortunate enough to have a house.

And of course SE planned this campaign! They saw an opportunity and they're taking it. Unfortunately what I believe will happen is that people will come back, realize that 3.1 sucks, and then leave again. Maybe not all of them but I think it'll be a good amount.

It is one thing to promise change, it is another to promise change and then be seen as yanking the chain with a loophole. I'm not going to give a damn about "potential subs", when the current support thus far has not delivered a better resolution to the housing availibility, that is affecting "my" gameplay and "my" priorities. That is why I am not enthused about the free logins that are coming in at this time. Being "worth less than the potential of resubs" isn't a good argument for current players spending on the cash shop in the first place. You can't convince me the cash shop doesn't have people using it, so if its presence is still resulting in our situation with housing unchanged, why should I throw more money into its hole?

Well..perhaps with luck the houses won't be considered visited as the account entering is still considered inactive, thus the 45 day timer is not reset. Would be the wise choice anyway.

Sure people spend money on the cash shop but the fact is SE decided to go ahead with the free login campaign anyway which means the're not satisfied with the money they're getting. Others spending money on the cash shop but not you probably means you're worth much less to them than those who do. It doesn't matter to them if other players are spending alot to compensate for you not spending any money because in an ideal situation they want to see both other players and you spending the same amount of money on the cash shop (lots).

Word has it that current subs stands at 800k and XIV has 5.5 million accounts. That's 4 million plus potential resubs out there. Kick and scream all you want about your 15 dollars sub and how you're being treated with it, you can't compete with that kind of money. It's not like you'll be quitting over this and SE knows it. Your 15 dollars is pretty much guaranteed, no?

I'm sure they've lost tons of players over the housing debacle, so it's not necessarily 'guaranteed'.

Also, I wonder if free trial accounts are counted in the '5.5 million registered accounts' thing, because the recent lodestone thing someone did said there were only like 7.5 million characters or something. I have 4 characters with jobs at 60 and several burner characters aside from that, and I'm sure lots of people have more than one character. Would need to know how many people play in China too.

Probably not a good idea to toss numbers around when we don't have any of the numbers that matter.

That's your assumption, isn't it? I'm using my own eyes, looking at this thread. People here are upset that they wont get to have their house this year but not one of them have claimed to have stepped up to the unsub plate (that I see). They won't. So their complaint amounts to nothing. SE can safely ignore it while pursuing new subs/resubs.

Also 5.5 million registered accounts means just that. Registered account. Free trial isnt registered. Pretty sure China isn't part of the numbers. Though last I heard it wasn't doing as well as expected. 'I'm sure' it's because of the payment system, not the game itself. Game's fine. :^)

I stand corrected on china not being included. But I don't think I'm wrong about your last sentence. Every single piece of combat content has been designed to pursue new subs and resubs and be as welcoming as possible. Why do you think "catch up" is such a catch phrase in this game?
