I'm sure they've lost tons of players over the housing debacle, so it's not necessarily 'guaranteed'.

Also, I wonder if free trial accounts are counted in the '5.5 million registered accounts' thing, because the recent lodestone thing someone did said there were only like 7.5 million characters or something. I have 4 characters with jobs at 60 and several burner characters aside from that, and I'm sure lots of people have more than one character. Would need to know how many people play in China too.

Probably not a good idea to toss numbers around when we don't have any of the numbers that matter.

That's your assumption, isn't it? I'm using my own eyes, looking at this thread. People here are upset that they wont get to have their house this year but not one of them have claimed to have stepped up to the unsub plate (that I see). They won't. So their complaint amounts to nothing. SE can safely ignore it while pursuing new subs/resubs.

Also 5.5 million registered accounts means just that. Registered account. Free trial isnt registered. Pretty sure China isn't part of the numbers. Though last I heard it wasn't doing as well as expected. 'I'm sure' it's because of the payment system, not the game itself. Game's fine. :^)

I have friends that have unsubbed over housing, and I don't think your anecdotal evidence is any stronger than mine. Not everyone comes on the forums and threatens to quit or makes a big scene either.

Free trial is a registered account, and China is part of the numbers. The trial accounts may not count toward the 5 million number, though. We still don't know how many actual subscriptions the game has. What we do know is that the NA/EU/JP servers have fewer than 400,000 characters with at least one job at 60. I'm sure a lot of people just don't have Heavensward yet and are sitting at 50 (there weren't many players found in the 51-59 range without a 60).

Regardless, if you think SE cares more about people who have already quit the game than the loyal subscribers still playing, well... Let's just hope you're wrong.

I stand corrected on china not being included. But I don't think I'm wrong about your last sentence. Every single piece of combat content has been designed to pursue new subs and resubs and be as welcoming as possible. Why do you think "catch up" is such a catch phrase in this game?

I'm not saying potential resubs don't matter. It's important to do things to draw in players who quit or took a break, or to try and entice them away from other games. However, they can't just assume the people still around will always be there. You can't make huge promises, break them, and expect your customers to just get over it and move on.

I wish they had some form of catch up with crafting, If they do and I haven't found it yet please let me know.
