Well I am sure nobody is going to come back just so they can maliciously deny other people something they themselves have lost interest in.

I still think this is going to have an effect on the reclamation though, and that will have a knock-on-effect for people wanting to buy houses.

there will never be an end all solution for housing. always there will be new players, more alts, new fcs increasing demand. eventually they are going to run out of resources to supply the demand. the only thing you can truly do is be patient. i got mine a while ago because i caught an empty plot from a recent server transfer. i wouldnt waste my energy though throwing negative emotion into something like this. if you care for it so much its worth getting angry over, could always convert that energy into motivation to farm enough to buy off someone who currently owns. theres always plots for sale, just got to ask how much is it worth to you

The housing reclamation has raised the hopes of people who were looking for a house, our FC has been working and saving in the expectation that housing would be available.
Now those hopes are being dashed. Inactive players who have not been supporting the game can come back and keep the houses they have not been using, possibly for months. While those of us who have been subbed but unable to buy a house get nothing.

What Solara said above. I'm glad you're letting inactive players try out FF XIV again in the hopes they renew subscriptions, but this is directly *nullifying* the Housing Reclamation system you put in. It means all Inactive Housing Owners just have to take advantage of your Free Login Window and walk into their inactive house / land, and Voila! it resets the timer again.

Inactive players who own houses can just keep this going on FOREVER with this tactic.

You should adjust the system to make sure they have an Active Subscription to be able to renew the Housing Reclamation Timer.

Why does everyone assume that the people who abandoned their house would log in during the free campaign? Or that all the players that are inactive are house owners? The percentage of people who are inactive and house users and care enough to log in is probably so small of a percentage that it barely even makes a blip on the delays on land reclaims.

Pretty much this. You just have to be a motivated buyer. I recently sold my lot to such a person. I don't think hes even come back since the first day. Well maybe I've seen him around once since then. If you really need a house as an FC, it shouldn't be that hard to get enough togeather to get one.

...There is no house built on the lot, so even if other FC members return, it'd be a month before the leadership passed to one of them, I believe.

Pretty sure that plots without a house can't be refreshed, so they'll automatically be reclaimed after 45 days.

- Purchased plots of land upon which an estate has not been built within forty-five days.

I am sure that there'll be some housing available by christmas since there are plenty of people who have houses that have quit the game

Yes this free Log in will provide " Incentive " to return to the game, Incentive that some will take...but not everyone who is inactive will Pop in. Some will (Hey, Free chance to check out 3.0/3.1 and see if this game redeemed itself), but there's no saying if those who will are individuals with a house. Some probably still dont know about the reclamation (even with the near end notifications SE Sends out) or even the freaking free days itself, and if they have been gone for awhile to the point where their homes are about to be reclaimed, chances are they probably wont be returning for a good minute beyond the Timer.

This doesn't Provide the opportunity for them to return...They always freaking could/can return even without the free log in. Its a good Time to Possibly bring in some new and possibly old Blood and I can't Knock SE for that. It's December, nearing break time for many as well as a Holiday and so it's a great time.

This is thread reminds me of my Void Ark run Yesterday. Immediately upon entering, the other Healer actually said " Goddamn it! another Healer without the Chest ". Already started out Salty (He/She probably was a good cool person outside of this situation). I figured that they must have ran VA alot trying to get the chest, so I had in mind to let them get it if it dropped since I was mainly there to get the upgrade Item. Sadly enough I didnt tell them this otherwise shit probably wouldnt have gotten soured later. Some ways into it, they actually tried to Vote Kick me as indicated by one of the other members when it didnt go through. The Possibility of competing with the roll if it dropped, and possibly having to wait longer actually made them that Salty. The Robe dropped and I won it, with them telling me to Burn in hell. After that Attempted Vote Kick, there was no way in hell I could feel sympathy.

Most people here in this thread are probably really cool people too, but goddamn.
