SE did say there was going to be a place to help dps get their rotation and give out suggestions. But they said that wont happen until or after 3.2

Having very tight DPS checks but no legit means to see if you are doing alright is such a good idea.
Self parser, at least on the dummy is a must have.
This came up several times in all the parser threads and people who cry that a dungeons takes 5 mins longer than they are used to didn't like it. (dem low DPS right? :P)
Personally I don't care if this will be added to the game or not simply because I have no use for it
Second this as a PS4 player. I definitely would like a personal damage meter. Also damage/mitigation and hps would be lovely also. Pleaseeeeee.
i've been gaming for 27 years.. why is parser must have??
is it that hard to see how fast you take out a mobs hp?? is it that hard to read bsttle log numbers and do the math??
parser numbers have been known to be inconsistent parser to parser. I never understood the addon needed game play from Wow. I play fine on my ps3 only 1 time in the time iv played has a person complained about my dps. and that was a mnk in haukke manor saying my lvl 28 pgl dps sucked. at the end of a dungeon mind you.
Thing is, i was having an issue remembering where my positions where on top of tank was picking lousy spots.
Thing is rotation sequence is 1 part of many that factors your dps rate. How fast you attack a mob after pull, and gear also contributes to it.
I also never saw any info of them adding an ingame psrser... mind putting in a link??

Actually the people who want parsers have bigger and more fragile egos.
A parser user ilvl 208 MNK (he claimed) "bitched around" when his DPS number was defeated by a BRD who didn't even care about his DPS number and doesn't even use a parser in my Void Ark run last week, it was funny as hell. He even bitched to me and blamed me because I didn't use Goad on him, while I was using it for the PLD (I was a NIN).

They showed a video or screeenshots with the in game parser on so it does exist, just not released yet. Please look forward to it.
I'll just be honest; when leveling, its not really the best idea to practice a specific rotation for hours on end, since you'll just gain new skills that will change it (fairly quickly with the xp buffs too). And really, any leveling dungeon that is cleared in a reasonable amount of time is fine.
I do recommend practicing a lv50 rotation when you get there, just because lv50 content does pop up with some frequency. Plenty of guides with great rotations out there to get a good start. But even then, unless you plan on doing some serious lv50 work, don't worry too much over it anymore; wait til you get to 60, and your final rotation, for that (or, as final as your gear lets you. Certain jobs' rotations can change depending on how much SS you have, or even if your SCH is using Eos or Selene...so be aware)
That being said, if you are this bothered by not seeing your own DPS at all times...you should just bite the bullet and get a PC. I know if I had a parser, I wouldn't have it on except in content that has real DPS checks or in practice; most randoms tend to be very very bad (example, did a Void Ark run today with a friend who intended to give himself all his Arrows and Balances to be top healer DPS. Turns out, I was top DPS for every encounter except third boss [I died when my heals didn't realize I was tanking]. Now why is this a problem? I was a WAR...even with him feeding me all sorts of amazing cards, that should not have happened)

There's been no talk of an official parser. What people are referring to when they talk about 'official' parsers is actually add-on support, where players can make their own plug-ins for the game to enhance their own play experience. It's surmised that a parser is going to inevitably be one of the first ones out of the gate. Not that I care. Just as you said, if you're playing to the best of your ability then a parser is entirely unnecessary. And, really, a level 28 dungeon is the LAST place to be berating people over numbers. You're still learning, with Haukke being where you learn that stunning enemies can be better than running away from them (all the AoE can be stunned).
I think I remember that video. It was from their testing group running new content for quality control and difficulty gauging. That's for in-house use, they've never once said it was a future feature of the game. Though I believe Yoshida has stated that he's not sure the community could use such a thing responsibly. But that's about as credible a statement as that video.

If everything wasn't a DPS check in this game, there wouldn't be a need for this.
Good read here unconventional DPS tests.
