Yes, I need maybe 1 h for lvl 40-41.

Maybe you aren't doing things right.

Are you using exp food ?
Are you using Gathering food ? (less fails = more exp)
Is your gear all the time up-to-date ?
Are you doing your leves, setting their levels at +3 or +4 (requieres a good gear) ?
Are you turning-in HQ items at your GC everyday ?
Do you use your FC gathering buff ?

When you have no leves left and you have to gather for good, try to farm ores, they sell the best and it's a good incentive to keep gathering.

The path to 50 can be quite boring, but 50-60 does take very little time (the leves at that level give an enormous amount of exp) and can be done in a few hours. Don't give up.

OP is likely referring to 1-40 which is a real grind. Leveling from 50-60 is a joke due to collectibles and company issue survival manuals. So much so that i think you have forgoten where you came from (probably a long time since got to MIN/BTN 50). It was made pretty clear to me when i recently leveled 2 Alts so that i could stockpile redscrips. 1-50 is no joke. It just takes too long.

OP is right that the grind from 1-50 is absurdly long in comparison to the 50-60 grind. You would think that with all the shortcuts we were given in HW that they would have nerfed the gathering grind or at least incorporated another means of obtaining gatheirng exp. Sadly, its just as time consuming leveling a miner as it was in 2.0 when this game was released. I think thats an issue.
