I don't know, some of the later sets of gear looked pretty cool.
Here's the Empyrean gear for the jobs on XI.

In terms of "lack of detail" you guys are comparing a game that runs on PS2 to a game that runs on PS4. I mean... come on now.

This. At least 1/3 of the monster and NPC (meaning things like Mamool and Qiqrin) models in this game are actually directly ripped from XI and just have a slightly upgraded texture for XIV, yet you don't see people complaining about that. In some cases, they don't even bother changing or expanding on the animations, such as the first boss in Pharos Sirius (Hard). Even Ravana, which I see a lot of people claiming as XIV's own, is basically just a heavily altered Naraka-model, it even uses the same battle style as that monster family does in XI! There's nothing saying similar things can't be done with equipment.
Honestly, I feel like half of the anti-XI sentiment on the OF is hating just for the sake of hating, rather than being logical.
On topic, I'd basically like everything from Salvage. No exceptions, just put it all in.

Add some bug wings and it's "totally" XIV original, right?
That right there, is a perfect example of how you can add more detail into previous XI content.

That something i don't understand, if you do raid, is not for the big shinies, but because you like raiding, the loot is a plus, and generally it have special skin and savor that can only be get like this, the fact to get gear outside raid that can be as good is irevelant with the need to do raid.... if people do raid only because they want to have the best loot, then, they are not raider!We already have horizontal progression, in the form of i210 Esoteric gear, i210 Diadem gear, and i210 Savage gear. The problem with that is, if you make gear that's on par with raiding gear, or better than it, the raiders are going to complain unless it's 3-4+ after the raiding gear is out. Therefore we get no horizontal gear from the beginning to satisfy everyone.

Sorry to bump an old thread, I didn't want to make a new one when this one was so nicely done.
Can we get more FFXI glamours added to DoH books? I remember Yoshida saying the two sets added are just the beginning but I haven't seen any new sets added sincewell, the phoenix was added but I mean more traditional xi outfits like the ones posted in this thread.
As someone who plays DoM jobs, we don't have any XI gear except the phoenix one ; ;
Quite honestly I'd be more in favor for the newbie gear, especially monk gear for the poor ninjas and monks.
As for the higher level unique gear...I'm somewhat iffy on it. Some of the gear suggested really fit the theme of the expansions or areas they were in. For the new expansion it might work but eh. I'm always in favor of more heavier armor gear or the seers gear for mages.

I support this totally, XI had some really great looking armor at every level
