This is interesting, because I've read on the headcanon thread (I think) a theory/headcanon that the version of Hydaelyn we're playing on was in fact a Primal world created by the Phoenix/Bahamut battle during the Calamity (and that no one actually time traveled to the future)

This would mean everyone other than those at carteneu would of been primals as well since bahamut's calamity didn't reach the entire planet from what i can recall, it changed it a fair amount but eorzea suffered the most damage.

I doubt its that simple. The Ascians have been active for a very long time. If we had split worlds I suspect it would have happened back in the Age of the Gods before the first umbral calamity.

This, and we see Lahabrea at Carteneau before Bahamut breaks free and the battle between him and Louisoix takes place. Since he is said to be 'of this world', but already existed there, I doubt the world our characters are in was newly created during the seventh calamity. Besides, Ramuh's comment that in the beginning, there was neither light nor darkness, would fit much better with the Age of the Gods, I think.

I was more or less saying that the world being a 'primal' created by phoenix theory didn't work. The calamity didn't hit the entire planet, mostly Eorzea. Could happen at lot longer ago sure but not after carteneau.

For all the time I've been a lurker on these forums, and I can't help but ponder on these in a rather... wild theory, and a bit to sum it up. Perhaps during the Age of the Gods, Zodiark and Hydaelyn were one, of sorts, then something made Hydaelyn split to the point that the Ascians consider her to be a blight?

It sounded better in my head...

To go back to the main topic, 3.1 MSQ was an absolute roller coaster of emotions for me, having done it within 3 hours. It was short, yes, and perhaps next patch I'll slow down on the questing to not get that borderline mood whiplash, but I loved it.
