I think the devs should focus a lot more on content before they do any more glamour's. In fact I say No more glamour's till they make a real horizontal progression system to gear. Only do glamour's for the events but there needs to be a better form of gear progression.

Cause that's really the first way to solve the inventory problems.

We already have horizontal progression, in the form of i210 Esoteric gear, i210 Diadem gear, and i210 Savage gear. The problem with that is, if you make gear that's on par with raiding gear, or better than it, the raiders are going to complain unless it's 3-4+ after the raiding gear is out. Therefore we get no horizontal gear from the beginning to satisfy everyone.

They've been kinda already using designs from ffxi anyway. Wootz > Koenig or ares sets from ffxi just off the top of my head. I'm sure theres others.

I'm talking about gear that will be relivent for 3-4 patches instead of the reset on every new high end raid. This means they need to get rid of the item level in gear first.

Then the game would get boring after we obtain that gear, and people will unsubscribe. Alternatively, the gear will be so hard to get that people will unsubscribe. Today's market is very different, you'll just have to live with that most people just don't want to deal with grinding a 1+ hour instance with a 0.01% drop rate on certain equipment anymore.

How is horizontal gear progression going to solve inventory problems? If anything would create more inventory problems. Horizontal progression encourages hoarding every little odd and end just in case it turns out to be useful in new content.
