Many posts here have already echo'd at this laughable argument for a DPS focused meta so I'll just throw this in.
If you're right, then why exactly did the dev team bother to create endgame Vit accessories?

Of course, how could America have forgotten? After all, Joe McCarthy was well known for his video game prowess.

Good job missing the point.
Note the guy I quoted trying to claim that on JP servers everyone can do whatever they want and everyone just works together and it's sunshine and rainbows and gumdrop forests?
I was simply explaining to him that JP isn't any better about it. Just different.
Yeah, I remember first hearing about it too, just isn't the road I'd want to be on.Good job missing the point.

Lol where did I ever say that ? All I said was that as long as content is done (provided you don't spend your time in the floor, obviously), people won't go nuts on you because you aren't pushing every little bit that you could do.
Please note that I'm not implying a carry (people standing afk), but just a healer not dps'ing or tank not stance dancing.
earlier i did a thordan ex meteor training with another DRK, he was really nicely stuffed BUT with dps accs (why not ...)
but in 4 try, he couldnt withstand the celestial blade from the adds, ALWAYS ALWAYS killed,
ppl form the pty got pest and disbanded ...
so now if i see another tank with dps stuff, i will kindly "KICK !!" him, and look for a REAL tank who tank, not an hybrid
Sounds to me like the player was at fault, not his gear.earlier i did a thordan ex meteor training with another DRK, he was really nicely stuffed BUT with dps accs (why not ...)

IMO you should reconsider potentially alienating future prospects based off of one poorly analyzed experience.
This thread is....
Seriously, why do so many people wanna half ass play their job? You're tank? You DPS to maintain and increase enmity (and to kill stuff faster). You're healer? You dps to help kill stuff faster so you don't have to heal as much and stuff doesn't take a month, 3 days, and 4 years to kill.
Think of yourself as a anime character/superhero/whatever floats your boat.....In an amazingly difficult battle with superpowered baddies, you have, as a healer (which is a MAGE), the ability to heal yourself and your allies, but you can also ATTACK things to put down some serious damage (Why is Holy so awesome if you're not supposed to use it on the stuff your group is fighting????). Now your team is relying on you to not only keep them alive, but to help them survive the encounter. The longer the fight drags on, the more possibilities that something will go wrong and you and your group will all get KO'd. Now, do keep in mind that the fate of the world is depending on you Warrior of Light. Do you just herp derp and only heal while the rest of your group are getting the crap beat out of them, or do you throw in your superawesome badass healer attack magic spells, that as a badass mage you have the ability to use to not only defend yourself, but to defend your party as well?
Would you not see yourself as the cowardly group member if you're only using half of your magical repertoire while the rest of your party are going full on attack/defense mode to try to save themselves, you, and the world at the same time? You have the power to make a lot bigger difference in group content, but whether or not you choose to use it is ultimately up to you. Sure my comparisons, examples, whatever were cheesy, but I think it gets the point across.
It's your -insert sub fee- a month. I guess you have the right of it to play your way, but do know that when running group content, only using half of you magical repertoire is only holding back your group as your group could excel and achieve much more if you gave the group your all and put your full effort into playing your job to it's maximum potential.
As Drk main, I have a Antiquated Deathbringer. It's sole purpose is to look cool and tickle mobs to death as I avoid AoEs, mitigate damage, use defensive cooldowns, and enmity generating actions, but definitely not to slash down my foes and inflict as much damage as possible in every encounter because I'm a tank, not a DPS.
